The Names of God:

In our current body, as a redeemed person, we are like a butterfly in a cocoon meaning while God is working on perfection of the Spiritual Person we are confined to this body where we are learning through tribulation, and God’s word the Bible, and the indwelling Holy Spirit to become a butterfly and not a moth.

Summer is getting warmer so relax, Chill out and let us learn
something about the Creator and benefactor and friend
of all who turn to righteousness.

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Philippians 4:9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, the Apostle Paul,practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.

Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD Jehovah said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. 

N.A.S. Bible:

Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD, Jehovah  said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land.”
The original KJV Bible “Old Testament” was translated into English from the LXX, Septuagint which is a Greek translation of the Hebrew about 300 years B.C, years before Christ.
In Greek the name Yahweh, Hebrew for Jehovah “the Eternal Self Sustaining One” was translated to Kurios which is the Greek closest equivalent and then to the English equivalent which is Lord.
In the “New Testament” where the original language was Greek the name Yahweh or Jehovah was not used but Kurios meaning Lordin English was used exclusively as it is today.
So; whether old or new Testament “Lord” is understood to mean Yahweh or Jehovah depending on the context as Lord is also used of Men .
Lord, as an adjective precedes the name as “Lord Jesus Christ”.
Exodus 6:2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am Jehovah
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
Name change here is not God changing His name but revealing names that He already has with each name representing different aspects, ministries of Himself.
So ; God revealed a certain aspect of Himself, God Almighty to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.
Here, God is getting ready to reveal His name Jehovah to Moses as well as His name God Almightyas previously revealed to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
God has appointed Moses as the Ghost writer for the Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit and Moses will record the first 5 books of the Bible as dictated by the Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit of God, 2Peter 1:20-21 in which the names, aspects of Jehovah and God Almighty will be revealed.
2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy,chosen men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit. 

The Agent, name of God who created:

 John 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ, N.A.S. Bible .Grace and truth existed in the “old testament” in Jehovah but were realized, identified through Jesus Christ, another name of God when He became flesh and the perfect sacrifice.
John 1:18 No one (human) has seen God the Father at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, Daniel 7:13-14, HeJesus Christ has explained Him, the Father.. 

The SON:

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,  Jesus Christ whom he hath appointed heir, Romans 8:17 of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;  John 1:1-5, 1:10,14.

 Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when He Jesus Christ  had by himself  purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high, Daniel 7:13-14, recorded about 600 b.c ;
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

The Eternal God in the Body of Jesus:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 In Him, Jesus Christ was Eternal  life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:10 He, Jehovah, God the Word was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew him not. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full ofgrace and truth.

The Word Of God:

Revelation 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He himself.
Revelation 19:13 And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.
We have seen examples of God as The Almighty and Jehovah in the “Old Testament” and Jesus Christ in the “New Testament” and now we are about to see God as the Word Of God as He rides with His Armies to Armageddon . 

The Names of God became Flesh:

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
The Diety of Jesus Christ is 100% meaning all of the names of God indwelt Him but He is not the entirety of God.
Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 

as saith the prophet:

Acts 7:49 “Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool, what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest”.
Footstool here is a metaphor and probably means ottoman or footrest as it seems to be referring to magnitude, the size of God which may in reality be infinite and not finite.
God will rule the entire creation including planet earth from Jerusalem on planet earth and then from the “Heavenly New Jerusalem” in eternity future through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is finite. Is He God’s window to His creation ??  

Abram before his name change to Abraham:

Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Genesis 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.  

The severity of the Law of Moses:

Ruth 1:20 And she said to them, Do not call me Naomi. Call me Bitterness, for the Almighty has dealt bitterly with me.
Ruth 1:21 I went out full, and Jehovah has brought me back empty. Why do you call me Naomi? Since Jehovah has set His eye against me, and the Almighty has done evil, to me, afflicted me.
Afflicted would be a better translation here as God cannot be tempted by Evil and He tempts no man with evil, James 1:13-14, however, He uses the Devil as He did with Job.
As long as Evil is in the world men and women will be tempted and many of us will be led astray by our own lust, 1John 1:5-9.
All Evil will be removed at the “Great White Throne” judgment, Revelation 20:7-15 which is the second resurrection. The condemned will be people who refuse to repent of their Evil living as they have chosen Evil.
Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Genesis 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
What Naomi appears to be saying here is that Jehovah did the planning and the Almighty did the deed.
As this is an inspired writing we at least know what Naomi thought as she is being quoted here.
This is probably an accurate assessment of God Almighty and Jehovah, see Job below.
We must always look closely at the context as even Satan is quoted and he is a liar.
I went out full means she had a husband and two sons.
There was a famine in the land of Judah in southern Israel and so Naomi and her husband with their two sons left Judah and moved to Moab in Jordan and lived there about ten years.
The Moabites were descendants of Lot who was a believer in God Almighty and the nephew of Abraham.
The descendants of Lot had forgotten God Almighty and moved to Idolatry.
The worship of the “Big Bang” and “Natural Selection” which lives by hypothesis from the mind of some men was patterned after Swiss Cheese as it is full of gas, air, human flatulence.
The 2 sons of Naomi married Moabite women which was strictly forbidden by the “Law of Moses” and subsequently Naomi’s two sons died. Naomi’s husband also died probably as a consequence of breaking the “Law of Moses”.
One of the widowed wives returned to her people and Idolatry but the other widowed wife, Ruth stayed with Naomi and accepted the Israeli people and their God who was God Almighty/Jehovah.
Ruth married Boaz and they are in the genealogy, Luke 3:31-32, Matthew 1:5 to Jesus Christ meaning she carried the “seed of the Woman”, Genesis 3:15 which ended up in the Virgin Mary about 1100 years later becoming Jesus, the body of God, Hebrews 10:5.
Because Ruth had turned to God Almighty/Jehovah Boaz did not die as did her previous husband, 2Corinthians 6:14-18.
Ruth 1:15 And she Naomi said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:  

Job:

Job 6:4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; their fury is drinking my spirit; the terrors of God are set against me.
Like Naomi , Job is blaming the Almighty for his calamity so is this true as we know that Satan is doing this??
God always has overriding authority meaning that Satan has permission from God to do this.
Job and many others are servants of God as we are and as such do the Lord’s bidding as faithful servants.
Part of God’s plan is to expose us to Evil and its suffering as it is imperative that we understand the very real consequences of sin and Evil which only destroy and provides temporary profits for some people but in the end death, Romans 5:3-5, Hebrews 5:7-9.
God gave us volition, self will by which we choose right or wrong. Because we are weak in the flesh we struggle to do what is right, over coming the world, 1John 5:1-5.
This history of Job has been documented, written down so that we might know Jehovah who in the end accepts all responsibility as He did at Calvary.
What Job appears to be saying here is : The Almighty is the Virtual Hand of Jehovah meaning that the Almighty does the work as did “GOD THE WORD” John 1:1,10.
Be aware: that translations and use of different languages have changed the Hebrew names into Gentile names meaning for accurate assessment we compare context with context called rightly dividing the “Word of Truth”, 2Timothy 2:15.
Keep in mind: that God Almighty and Jehovah are two aspects of the One God.
This is not a strange concept as a woman can be a wife, a mother, and a corporate head all in one person. If we were discussing her corporate aspect we would not bring up her spouse, children or home life.
Job 12:9 who of all these does not know that Jehovah’s hand has done this,
Job 12:10 in whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh, even of man?
Does this say that the Virtual Hand of God, see verse 6:4 who is God Almighty, is the agent, name of God Jehovah who created ?
Remember: Jehovah means the “SELF SUSTAINING ONE WHO IS THE ETERNAL GOD” and all of these names are also eternal but only revealed when God wishes it so.
Jehovah is mentioned many times in the book of Job with the “Son’s of God”, the Angels but is used only once by Job and never by his human companions. The word “God” is used many times.
It would appear that the “Host of Heaven” were very familiar with this name but God was revealing Himself as Jehovah through Moses to Israel and subsequently the “Human Race”.
Perhaps a Rose by any other name is still a Rose.
Job 42:7 And it happened, after Jehovah spoke these words to Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger glows against you and your two friends”.  For You have not spoken the right about Me, as My servant Job.
Job 42:8 And now take for you seven young bulls and seven rams and go to My servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And My servant Job will pray for you. Surely I will lift up his face so as not to do with you according to your folly, in that you have not spoken the right about Me, as My servant Job.
Lift up his face shows God’s love for Job and is necessary here as Job’s friends had caused Job a lot of anxiety with their false words. 

Teaching:

1Timothy 1:18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight,
1Timothy 1:19 keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.
1Timothu 1:20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.
Job’s friends were very religious and full of “Human viewpoint” but did not know God as they should.
They were believers who were in danger of dieing the sin unto death but God loved them also and provided sacrifice for atonement and instruction from Job.
Many believers in our churches today are ignorant about the Bible meaning they don’t know what God wants them to know, Hebrews 6:1-3.
If you are reading this you are moving in the right direction, 2Timothy 4:1-5.
Not that I am greater than others but I am pointing to God’s plan through Jesus as are many but our problems come from those who have never matured in Christ and are not moving to perfection, completion and they can cause us to have anxiety about present and future things.
The ideal church is found in Revelation 3:7-13.
Sacrifice here is superseded, replaced by Calvary through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. 

God’s plan for the Redeemed:

Ephesians 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Ephesians 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Ephesians 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of the body of  Christ which is the Church .
The body of Christ was Jesus who is currently with the Father in God’s Heaven, Acts 3:19-21, ISV.
Christ, who is God whose body was Jesus which was broken into pieces as Jesus broke the bread at the Eucharist, the Lords supper meaning each member of the “Body of Christ” is represented by the broken pieces of bread, and are each members of the new Body of Christ, the Church, 1Corinthians 11:23-24, John 6:53-58.
Without the successful ministry of Jesus Christ there would be no Church.
Ephesians 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
Ephesians 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Ephesians 4:18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Ephesians 4:19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.  

The Prophet Isaiah:

Isaiah 2:1 The Word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
So what does this have to do with the Gentiles of the world ? Everything ! 

The Millennial, 1000 year Reign of Jesus Christ:

Isaiah 2:2 And it shall be in the last days, the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.
Isaiah 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come and let us go up to the mount of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion the Law will go forth, and the Word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
Jehovah is used here because the 10 commandments will be used and enforced in the millennial reign of Jesus Christ as they were given to Moses from Jehovah, Luke 10:26-28, Exodus chapter 20, 1John 5:1-5.
Grace did not replace the commandments of God but covers the sins of those who would like to keep the commandments of God but fail to comply with the 100% requirement as we are weak due to our corrupted flesh, 1Corinthians 15:21.
Life in the flesh is a much happier life when we strive to walk with God and will be rewarded in eternity.
Salvation is the beginning of the race and the end will be our death or the Rapture, Hebrews 11:5-6.
Isaiah 2:4 And He,  Jesus Christ  shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people. And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. 

House of Jacob:

Isaiah 2:5 Oh house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.
Isaiah 2:6 For You, Jehovah  have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, and are spirit-knower’s like the Philistines. And they clap hands with children of foreigners.
In some context as here the disobedient members of Israel are referred to by God as the “House of Jacob”.
Jacob is the patriarch of the 12 tribes of Israel .
God changed Jacobs name to Israel after a confrontation with him in which Jacob was probably born again .
Jacob remained the name of the person of the flesh but the new person of the spirit was named Israel, Revelation 2:17, Galatians 5:14-26.
Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Romans 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God,  John 3:5-7  but the children of the promise, including Gentiles, Romans 2:28-29 are counted for the seed.
