EXPLICIT BIBLE TRUTH
Jesus
Who is He
What is He
Why is He
James 3:13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
James 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.
James 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
James 3:18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace, Matthew 5:9.
Why We Study:
Ephesians 4:11 And indeed God gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
Ephesians 4:12 with a view to the
1. perfecting of the saints, believers
2. for the work of the ministry
3. for the building up of the body of Christ which is the Church,
Ephesians 4:13 until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Ephesians 4:14 so that we may no longer be infants, being blown and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the sleight of men, in craftiness to the deceit of error.
About Repentance:
2Peter 3:9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
Repentance:
Luke 24:45 Then the resurrected Jesus opened the eleven Apostleâs minds to understand the Scriptures, Acts 16:13-14.
Luke 24:46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day;
Luke 24:47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins must be proclaimed in the Name of Jesus Christ to all the nations of the world, beginning from Jerusalem.
We donât have the Apostles of Christ but we do have the Holy Spirit who is God and He is the source of the New Testament writings, John 14:25-26.
John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
2Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
2Timothy 3:17 that the person of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
At Pentecost:
Acts 2:36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be water baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Water Baptism then and now is an outward sign of an inward feeling, a testimony of our repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our sin offering and here comes with a guarantee of the gift of the Holy Spirit, Acts 20:20-21.
Jesus the Prophet:
Acts 3:22 Moses said, ‘The Lord God Jehovah will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers, Deuteronomy 18:15-20. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.
Acts 3:23 And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’
Acts 3:24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.
Acts 3:25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’
Acts 3:26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”
The End:
2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
In here means inside the Day of the Lord which is 1000 years. This will occur at the end of that period of time.
The destruction will occur just prior to the Great White Throne Judgment which is the second resurrection, Revelation 20:11-15.
2Peter 3:11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
Our earthly treasures will be burned up but the works we do in the name of the Lord will be preserved, Matthew 6:19-20, Colossians 2:1-3, 1Corinthians 3:12-15.
2Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!
The day of God is the Eternal Kingdom. Jesus Christ will judge both the Church for rewards at the Bema, Revelation 11:18 and the unredeemed at the second resurrection in His humanity but then the humanity of Jesus Christ will turn over control to His Father who is the Deity of Jesus Christ, 1Corinthians 15:24-28.
Jesus Christ will rule the creation, the New Heaven and New Earth in righteousness from His Deity through the âSons of Godâ, those who have been conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, Romans 8:29.
John 5:22 “For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,
John 5:23 in order that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
2Peter 3:13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
2Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
Peace her is the Peace of God by which we understand that Jesus is our sin offering and God will be victorious and we relax in that belief.
When we walk as the world walks we get spotted by the sins of the world and the âblood of the Lambâ cleanses our spots making us clean and Spotless with 1John 1:7-9 being the Laundry.
Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Truth and Error:
2Peter 3:15 and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation; just as also our beloved brother the Apostle Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,
2Peter 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
2Peter 3:17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness,
But:
2Peter 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity, 1Corinthians 15:24, see also 2Peter 3:12 above, Amen.
Growing in Grace:
Ephesians 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Ephesians 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Ephesians 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about
1. by every wind of doctrine,
2. by the trickery of men,
3. by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
Ephesians 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head of the âBody of Christâ, <
