EXPLICIT BIBLE TRUTH
Jesus
Who is he
What is he
Why is he
Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: KJV
Matthew 7:8 For everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the door opened. ISV
Romans 5:19 For as through the one man’s disobedience (Adam) the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One (man Christ Jesus) the many will be made righteous (righteousness is the gift of God, Rom. 3:21-24, Eph. 2:8-10, ISV, KJV).
TODAY’S COMENTS
“Repentance”
Repent means to change your mind, metanoeo in the Greek which occurs more than 60 times in the Bible and occurs three times more often in the New Testament than in the Old Testament.
Changing your mind here has to do with deciding, making a decision to please God by walking with God by trying to keep His commandments. The world system, âDevil take the hindmostâ hates the God of the Bible and loves the Evil world system which is ego-centric, self centered. We strive to be righteous and we fail from time to time. Perfection is a future goal that God will bring us to. Our sins are covered by the blood of the “Lamb of God”.
1John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1John 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as He gave us commandment.
Name here means: the published scope of who Jesus Christ is and what He has done and will do as found in the Bible, Old and New Testaments, Ephesians 3:17-19.
1John 3:24 The person who keeps His (God’s) commandments abides in God, and God abides in him. This is how we can be sure that He remains in us: He has given us His Spirit, (this is eternal security).
The commandments of God include loving your neighbor; showing mercy to others, helping the poor, and widows, and orphans, and the downtrodden, etc;.
Eradicating poverty is a sham from the Devil to side track the Church. Although Americans give 25 times more than any other nation to feed and cloth others, we still have a world full of poor and needy people, Mark 14:7. The Devil, through his disciples, is the source of world poverty. Being rich does not make people evil. Their administration of money’s create jobs for all and some give to righteous causes, Hebrews 13:5.
Much poverty comes from careless living as a result of giving into the evil desires that we have; wine, women or men, and song.
Yup, not giving in is called self discipline, James 1:12-27.
Repentance!
Luke 24:47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name (Jesus Christ) unto all the nations (ethnic people, Jews and Gentiles), beginning from Jerusalem.
Acts 20:20 how I (the Apostle Paul) shrank not from declaring unto you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly, and from house to house,
Acts 20:21 testifying both to Jews and to Greeks; repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 3:26 “For you first (the Jew), God raised up His Servant (Jesus Christ), and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
Acts 5:31 Him (Jesus Christ) did God exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins (by the life and death of Jesus Christ ending at Calvary).
Acts 5:32 And we (Apostles of Christ) are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him (obey God).
Acts 11:18 And when they heard these things, they (the Jews) held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life, (eternal life).
Acts 17:30 The times of ignorance (Idolatry) therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men (Greek anthropos meaning: men and women) that they should all everywhere repent: (Darwinism is Idolatry, Romans 1:18-32)
Acts 19:3 And he said, Into what then were ye (water) baptized? And they said, Into John’s (water) baptism.
Acts 19:4 And Paul said, John (water) baptized with the (water) baptism of repentance. saying unto the people that they should believe on Him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus.
Acts 19:5 And when they heard this, they were (water) baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
The Church uses water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ as a token of a persons professed faith in Jesus Christ. This usually precedes membership. Some Churches sprinkle with water.
Spirit baptism is an exclusive prerogative of God and is done sovereignly by the agent of God who is the Holy Spirit of God who is from God and is also God and includes gifts of the Holy Spirit for the work of service.
Discipline leading to repentance!
Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits (God), and live? (eternal life)
Hebrews 12:10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed good to them; but He (God) for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness, (live a loving and forgiving life avoiding Sin) Romans 8:28-30.
Hebrews 12:11 All chastening seemeth for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yieldeth peaceable fruit unto them that have been exercised thereby, even the fruit of righteousness.
Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees;
Possible mental depression as well as physical problems. God wants repentance, not religious overtures.
Hebrews 12:13 and make straight paths for your feet (repentance), so that which is lame be not turned out of the way, but rather be healed.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow after peace with all mankind, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:
Romans 12:2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We should not just talk the talk but also we should walk the walk, Romans 6:1-23.
Remember: repentance toward God, and faith toward
our Lord Jesus Christ.
