Luke chapter 24:
44**And He {Jesus} said to them {the Eleven Apostles}. These are the Words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that all the things MUST BE FULFILLED having been written in the LAW OF MOSES, and the PROPHETS, and the PSALMS {the Old Testament} CONCERNING ME.
45**Then He opened up their mind to understand the {Old Testament} Scriptures {CONCERNING HIMSELF}.
Commentary:
Much of the New Testament quotes and is devoted to explaining the Old Testament and demonstrating the fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy’s, Matthew 5:17.
It is important to understand that the temptations, suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ were demonstrations of His infallibility and impeccability as well as the price of our eternal freedom and salvation.
There never was a chance that He, Jesus Christ would fail but He was presented for our evaluation meaning YES, we choose Righteousness or NO, we choose Evil. God foreknew which choice we would make but we will be judged by our choices and not by God’s foreknowledge. Only the works of Christians will be Judged as they are saved by Grace, 1Corinthians 3:11-15.
Those who are not born again will be resurrected and judged for eternal life or death by the works of the Moral Law, the 10 commandments, John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:11:15, Romans chapter 2, Matthew 5:7, Luke 1:5-6.
Initial salvation is the start line for a race that leads to the finish line which is either our death or the Rapture, Hebrews 12:1.
Daniel 12:1-3
1**”Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise, Revelation 12:7-9. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time, Revelation 12:13-17; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued, Revelation 12:13-14.
This is the 70th week of Daniel 9:24-27. It will begin with the Rapture of the Church, Revelation 4:1 and end at Armageddon.
2**”Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, Revelation 20:4-6, these to everlasting life, BUT THE OTHERS to disgrace and everlasting contempt, Revelation 20:11-15.
3**”Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars {Angels} forever and ever, Luke 20:34-36.
Acts 24:14-15
14**But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets {the Old Testament},
15**having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the JUST AND THE UNJUST.
Commentary:
Satan is having his day in the sun, Romans 8:18-23 so that WE and two thirds of the HOST OF HEAVEN also called Angels and Sons of God, can understand that rule by terrorism does not get it done but loving God and our neighbor does, Luke 10:27.
Some righteousness is on display now but after Armageddon, the Final War. See; Daniel 9:26-27, Revelation 19:19-21, then righteousness will prevail.
The final rebellion will occur in Revelation 20:7-9. Their intent is to make War but they will be annihilated. The Saints will have departed planet Earth prior to that time. Another Rapture? probably!
Jesus rose up into the clouds, Acts 1:9-11. Will the Holy Spirit who indwells us give us that ability, Romans 8:28-31, YES!
Luke chapter 1:5-6:
5**There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 **And they were BOTH RIGHTEOUS before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord BLAMELESS.
These two people were righteous and blameless before God but they were NOT SINLESS. Old testament saints followed the Law of Moses in the ordinances of God concerning the sacrifice of animals for sins committed.
These two and many others were of the faith of Abraham who was the Father of Faith, Romans 4:11-12. The Law of Moses, including animal sacrifice, was a tutor that led us to Christ, Galatians 3:16 and 19. God never accepted animal sacrifice for atonement but He always accepted FAITH which was expressed by obedience to His Instructions.
The righteous of the New Testament who are Saints of God who are chosen by God and not a Church, follow the New Testament instructions. 1John 1:7-10 is for the Saints of God. The successful ministry and sacrifice of Jesus Christ became the sacrifice for mankind and changed the priesthood of Aaron to the perpetual priest hood modeled after Melchizedek. Christ Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. In the end, all sins will be covered by God through Jesus Christ. Those who go to the Lake of Fire will go there with their sins paid for but their stubborn and unrepentant heart will defeat them.
The Old Testament, the Law of Moses has NOT been done away with, Matthew 5:17. The 10 commandments are still the standard of righteousness. The Jewish Temple was destroyed in 70AD; SO, they are no longer able to practice the Old Testament ordinances, but then, it is all by Grace, 1John 5:1-5.
THE EARTH WILL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, Isaiah 11:9, See below. The 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven will be ruled by a ROD OF IRON which is rule by Law, the ten commandments that are based on Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 10:27.
Our objective is to love, agapao which is the verb form of love that means doing as in, James 2:8 and 2:12-13 and 2:14-17.
IRON represents strength. Breaking of the Law will be a Capital Crime meaning the penalty is death. Because the penalty is so threatening, many of those that would normally sin will restrain themselves and those who do not will be eliminated.
So, the chaos that we currently have will not exist. The laws that we currently live under are based on God’s Law but have no teeth because of corrupt administration. The elite and heinous people can murder and be immune to prosecution.
The resurrected redeemed of God will have the Law written in their heart, 1John 5:1-5. Those born from the posterity, offspring of survivors of the GREAT TRIBULATION will be as we were prior to being Born Again and they will make a choice between righteousness and Evil. Many will be deceived by the Devil, Revelation 20:7-9. They will all be judged at the final resurrection, John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:6-15.
King David will be resurrected at the 1st resurrection and will rule over Israel forever, Ezekiel 37:24. The ordinances of verse 24 will be New Testament ordinances which are communion and water baptism.
Jesus Christ will reign by His humanity from Jerusalem over Planet Earth for 1000 years as LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS, Revelation 19:11-16.
When the 1000 years are completed then He, Jesus Christ will rule the Eternal Kingdom of God from His Deity, 1Corienthians 15:24-28.
1Timothy chapter 1:
5**But the goal of our instruction is love, Philippians 2:1-5 from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6**For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,
7**wanting to be TEACHERS OF THE LAW, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
Teachers of the Law here are Judaizers who promote the Law of Moses for salvation yet do not keep the Law themselves, Galatians 6:12-18. They believe that being born a Jew is their ticket to Heaven, Romans 2:17-29. See also, Acts 20:20-21.
8**But we know that the Law {the moral Law} is good, if one uses it lawfully,
9**REALIZING THE FACT THAT LAW IS NOT MADE FOR A RIGHTEOUS PERSON, BUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE LAWLESS AND REBELLIOUS, FOR THE UNGODLY AND SINNERS, FOR THE UNHOLY AND PROFANE, FOR THOSE WHO KILL THEIR FATHERS OR MOTHERS, FOR MURDERERS
10**AND IMMORAL MEN AND HOMOSEXUALS AND KIDNAPPERS AND LIARS AND PERJURERS, AND WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO SOUND TEACHING,
11**according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
There were REPENTANT homosexuals as well as sinners in other categories in the Church, 1Corinthians 6:9-12. 1Corinthians 5:1-5, Galatians 6:7-10, Revelation 22:13-15 are presented as examples of what not to be so that we may prove to be wise and walk with the Lord, WASHING OUR ROBES in the Christian Laundry, 1John 1:9.
Looking at the context of Revelation 22:13-15, the verse 15 people are saved but they returned to walking with the world and ignored their commitment to the Lord. They will not go to the Lake of Fire but they will have very reduced privileges and they will never enter the New Jerusalem, 2Peter 2:18-22.
After the 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven, all Evil and the sorrows that came with it will be put in the Lake of Fire and they will never re-emerge, Revelation 20:7-15.
The display of Evil is necessary so that we might know the fallacy of Evil and its destructive characteristics. So, Evil is on display now for our future benefit, Romans 8:19-23. Good and Evil are on display not just for us but also the Host Of Heaven, 1Timothy 5:21.
God foreknew the outcome before He created, 1Peter 1:20 but we did not. So, we must learn and choose which involves some suffering such as the loss of loved ones and different infirmities, See; Matthew 5:1-12 and Romans 8:18-23 and Hebrews chapter 12 for discipline.
There is no freedom or salvation in Evil. There is only short term gain through theft and murder and suffering of the innocent, Matthew 5:10-12.
Bible Presentation:
Much symbolism is used in the Bible. The symbolism is quite deliberate and not an accident or the choice of translators.
Holy men of old wrote what they were directed to write by the Spirit of God, 2Peter 1:20-21 and 2Peter 3:15-18.
Because you are reading this it is obvious that you are open to information about God and His plans for the future. You are allowed to disagree with me or anyone else, Chapter and verse please, 1Corinthians 14:29.
A prophet of the Lord is one who speaks in the name of the Lord. For us it is reciting and interpreting the Bible only.
Foretelling prophecy ended, 1Corinthians 13:8-13 when John the last living Apostle recorded the Book of the Revelation in about 97AD which is the last book of our 66 book Bible.
With Bible based teaching we have ILLUMINATION from the Holy Spirit. See Daniel 9:24-27 for the unfolding plan of God to implement eternal righteous rule.
See Revelation chapters 19 and 20 for the end of all Evil and the beginning of the Eternal Kingdom of God.
After Messiah was first announced, Genesis 3:15 it was approximately 4,000 years before His arrival and ministry began and now it has been about 2000 years since that time. SO, we wait with patience using our time wisely, Ephesians 5:15-21, Colossians 4:5-6, 1Corinthians 2:12-16.
John chapter 4:
23**But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father by means of God’s Spirit and by means of God’s truth, the {WORD OF GOD}: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him, John 3:5-8.
24**God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him by means of His Spirit and by means of His truth.
When the BORN AGAIN are reading the completed Bible, the Old and the New testaments, then we are FACE TO FACE with God, 1Corinthians 13:12-13. See also, Acts 20:20-21, Luke 24:47 for remission of sins, salvation.
The Church Rapture is next in the order of things. If there is no Church Rapture then why do we have Hebrews 11:5 as an example in the New Testament??? Hebrews chapter 11 is not for Hero worship but they are examples for us. Notice that in Hebrews chapter 11, Faith led them to do Righteous works, James 2:8-26.
See Genesis 5:23-24 for Enoch and 2Kings 2:11 for Elijah. See also; Revelation 4:1 and Revelation 11:3-12. Two Raptures have already occurred with 3 more to come.
PLEASE NOTE: The English wording varies from translation to translation but it is the substance of the context that we are looking for.
You will notice that there is a lot of redundancy in this commentary as well as other commentary’s that I write as it is for emphasis, learning of crucial factors for you and me.
Psalm 46:
10**Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the GENTILES, I will be exalted in the earth.
Romans chapter 15:
12** And again Isaiah says, “The ROOT OF JESSE will come, even He who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope, Isaiah 11:10.”
The Prophet Isaiah chapter 11:
1**There shall come forth a shoot from the STUMP OF JESSE, and a BRANCH FROM JESSE’S ROOTS.
Commentary:
A BRANCH from the ROOT OF JESSE is the DEITY of Messiah. The SHOOT from the stump of Jesse is the MORTAL HUMANITY of Messiah, John 1:1-15.
King David is a branch of Jesse his father. The Deity of Jesus is a branch of His father who is the Eternal God, John 1:1 and 14, Hebrews 10:5.
The shoot from the stump means that the shoot will arrive after the tree is cut down meaning when Jessie has been cut down meaning when Jessie is dead.
The shoots of the stump of Jesse are the future generations or seed of Jesse. Here it is specifically referring to one seed of Jesse which is the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15 that passes through Jesse and King David and many others in the genealogy of Luke 3:23-38 to the Virgin Mary. See also, Galatians 3:16 and 19.
This is a prophecy of the God-man Jesus presented in an allegorical way. A STUMP is left when the tree is cut down. The stumps of some trees continue to produce shoots after they are cut down. Stump, root and branch are being used here as allegories meaning that Jesse, the father of King David and many others, lived about 300 years before Isaiah recorded this Prophecy meaning Jesse was dead, Luke 3:31-32.
Luke 3:23-38 is the genealogy of Adam to Messiah which is the genealogy of the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15 to the Virgin Mary.
The BRANCH is from the ROOT OF JESSE, Isaiah 11:1 above. The root of Jesse and King David is GOD THE WORD, John 1:10, who is AN IDENTITY of ELOHYMN the Eternal God, John 1:1, Colossians 2:9, Genesis 1:1.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is KOSMOS or COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4. Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
Jesus who is GOD THE WORD incarnate, John 1:1 and 14 became Jesus Christ at His water baptism when the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost came upon Him, Luke 3:21-22 and He is also the root and offspring of King David, the son of Jesse, Revelation 22:16, Matthew 22:41-46. See also; Philippians 2:5-13 and Colossians 2:9 for the oneness of God.
The different names of the ONE GOD are different aspects of His Person. Each of us is a person but we may possess many names, titles such as Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Engineer, CEO or even a Military Rank. Each of these is a different aspect of our person with different values and duties.
The Seed:
The SEED OF THE WOMAN originated with Adam but was most probably transferred to Eve when God formed her, made her out of Adam. We know the seed originally came from Adam as the genealogy of Luke traces it to him, Luke 3:38.
Apparently, the seed that became the body of Messiah, Hebrews 10:5 in the ovum of the Virgin Mary was protected in Eve by design of the creator but the seeds still in Adam that became US were NOT protected when Adam and Eve transgressed. See also, 1Peter 1:20 where part of the mystery and preplanning of God is revealed.
Note here; this was not merely a happenstance but was foreknown and utilized by God as Acts 2:22-24 was with the ultimate purpose being that humans of reformed character, the BORN AGAIN, will replace the rebellious 1/3 of the Host of Heaven also called Angels and Sons of God, Genesis 6:2, Jude1:6, Job 1:6, and *Matthew 22:29-30, *Mark 12:24-25, *Luke 20:34-36. See also, Romans 8:19-23 and 11:32-33.
The Greek words translated CHILDREN of God in the KJV in *Matthew, *Mark and *Luke above should be translated SON’s of God. Sons of God here are Men and Women, Galatians 3:26 and 28 meaning it is not about gender but about perfection, Luke 3:22 and Romans 8:28-31.
The first Adam was a Son of God, Luke 3:38 but he lost that title when he transgressed becoming a sinner, a purely SOULISH MAN, also translated NATURAL MAN because he became something less than what he was made to be, 1Corinthians 2:14 and 15:45-58.
Genesis chapter 2:
7**And the LORD God FORMED MAN of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE; and man became a living soul.
The Hebrew word translated LIFE here is plural meaning there is more than one LIFE meaning; there is MORTAL LIFE, and SPIRITUAL LIFE.
When Adam and Eve transgressed their mortal, soulish LIFE remained but their Spiritual LIFE departed with its assets leaving them naked. See Matthew 17:2.
The Greek word translated WHITE in Revelation 3:4 also means LIGHT. Looking at the context a WHITE ROBE may actually be a ROBE OF LIGHT for Rapture Saints, Revelation 3:7-13 and post Rapture Tribulation Saints, Revelation 3:3 and 7:13-14, who washed their Robes in the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, 1John 1:7-10.
Adam lived for 930 years, Genesis 5:5. We have no record of the mortality of Eve that I am aware of. She bore sons and daughters. She is an important part of God’s foreknown plan and planning and NOT JUST FOR BEARING CHILDREN. We will meet her in God’s Heaven.
God, Elohiym is the source, guardian and redeemer of the human race. Our volition can betray us as it did Eve by the deception of Satan through her ignorance. Lies always take root in ignorance. The phrase OR TOUCH IT, Genesis 3:2-3 was added to God’s commandment, Genesis 3:11 perhaps by Adam and that may have been the catalyst for transgression.
We were born, made in the image of the first Adam but we are being conformed to the image of the second Adam, Romans 8:28-31, 1Corinthians 15:41-49.
The root of Jesse and King David is GOD THE WORD, John 1:10, Revelation 22:16, Matthew 22:41-46. The branch from the root of Jesse is the Deity of Messiah.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4. Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
In Luke 3:9 the root is being disconnected from the tree. Trees here are unbelieving individuals meaning they came from the same root, source but they were trees that produced no fruit by repentance with the fruit being righteous deeds, Luke 3:7-14, Acts 3:26.
In plain English:
The seed of the humanity of Messiah, Genesis 3:15, Galatians 3:16 and 19, THE SEED OF THE WOMAN came through Abraham and Isaac and Jesse and King David and Nathan and many others in the genealogy of Luke 3:23-38 and it was passed from husband to wife and finally to the Virgin Mary via, through her mother and from Eli {Heli} the father of Mary and grandfather of the humanity of Jesus where it was united with her ovum by the Holy Spirit, Luke 1:26-35 and became the Body of God, Hebrews 10:5.
Matthew chapter 1:
16**JACOB fathered Joseph, THE HUSBAND OF MARY, who was the mother of Jesus, who is called the Messiah.
Luke chapter 3:
23**Jesus himself was about 30 years old when he began his ministry. He was (so it was thought) the son of Joseph, the son {grandson} of Heli.
Jacob is the father of Joseph, Matthew 1:16 above. Joseph is the stepfather of Jesus. SO, Heli must be the father of the Virgin Mary and Grandfather of the humanity of Jesus, Hebrews 10:5.
If we reconstruct verse 23** from the elements of the literal translation to a more comprehensive English sentence it would read:
JESUS WAS ABOUT THIRTY YEARS OLD WHEN HE BEGAN HIS MINISTRY. HE WAS THE SON {GRANDSON} OF HELI BUT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE SON OF JOSEPH.
Before the thirtieth, 30th birthday of Jesus he was under the authority and reputation of His stepfather Joseph. Only Mary and Joseph, Matthew 1:18-25 and Zacharias, Luke 1:39-56 and his wife Elisabeth and Simeon and Anna, Luke 2:25-38 knew who He really was.
The Deity of Jesus came from the root of Jesse. King David is a branch, son of Jesse. The root of Jesse and King David is the deity of Jesus, Revelation 22:16, John1:1 and 10, Romans 15:12.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4 meaning that GOD THE WORD was the contractor and ELOHIYM is the architect.
Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
The spelling of names is different in different translations. The order of the names in Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:1-16 is important. Salmon is not Solomon, Matthew 1:5-6 but many men had the same names as we do today.
The problem here is NOT THE GREEK or HEBREW TEXT but the way we understand the text, 2Peter 3:16. The sentence structure of English, Hebrew and Greek are very different. The word grandson is not written but it is understood by the context in Greek and Hebrew.
Revelation chapter 5:
5**And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the ROOT OF DAVID, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Two New Testament Genealogies:
The genealogy of Matthew and Luke are very much different after King David with Solomon, born of Bathsheba in Matthew and Nathan in Luke who is the true line from King David leading to Messiah, Luke 3:31.
Matthew 1:16 makes it quite plain that Matthew is the genealogy of Joseph the step father of Jesus. This means that the SEED OF THE WOMAN did not pass through Solomon but through Nathan.
Note here that God chooses the successor to the throne of Israel, 1Samuel 16:11-13. Also, Note that David is from Jesse who is from the tribe of Judah and not from King Saul who is from the tribe of Benjamin. Jesus is the ONLY eternal, perpetual King Priest after the Order of Melchisedec, Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 6:20.
Matthew 1:17 also gives us a time line from David to Messiah of 28 generations which is about 1000 years. Matthew 1:22-23 quotes the Prophet Isaiah from Isaiah 7:14.
Matthew 1:18-25 also makes it quite plain that Joseph is NOT the father of Jesus. The intent of Matthew 1:16-25 apparently is to show that Joseph is NOT the father of Jesus but His guardian until age 30, Luke 3:23.
Matthew chapter 1:
King James Version
1**The book of the GENERATION of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Please note here that GENERATION is singular and not plural meaning 1 generation and not 2 or more meaning it is a record of the time that Messiah was on Earth and His time of Ministry as recorded in the book of Matthew.
Because Jesus is mentioned in verse 1** as the Son of both Abraham, Luke 3:34 and David , Luke 3:31 who were generations apart then we understand that it is referring to something common to both which in this case would be the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15.
Matthew chapter 1:
International Standard Version:
1**This is a record of the LIFE OF JESUS the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Matthew 1:1 is sometimes translated differently. The ISV translation here also shows us that Matthew 1:1 is referring to the whole book of Matthew and not just the genealogy of Matthew.
The remaining portions of Matthew chapter 1 prove that Joseph is not the father of Jesus as well as other pertinent information and that is the purpose of this inspired writing. It is imperative to assemble the pieces of the Bible to see the Word Picture, 2Timothy 2:15. This is not just good advice but it is necessary to understand the intricate way it is designed, Daniel 12:8-13, 1Peter 1:10-12, 1Corinthians 13:8-13.
The KJV, translation in my opinion is more easily understood than the newer translations in several areas but the newer translations can be very helpful. Many teachers today prefer the NASB translation. Quite often I read many translations and my limited knowledge of Hebrew and Greek also help to get a consensus of the meaning. Only God knows it all. God the Holy Spirit is our teacher; So, we must be born again. Don’t forget 2Timothy 2:15 as the Bible is His textbook.
Isaiah chapter 11 continued:
2**And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him {Messiah}, Luke 3:21-22, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD, Revelation 4:5 and 5:6.
Jesus was born the God-man, John 1:1-15 who is GOD THE WORD but humbled Himself by becoming, taking the form of a man, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 2:8-9 meaning His Deity is the essence of God but He lived as a man which was a demonstration of self control as in Him dwelt the fullness of the God Head bodily, Colossians 2:9, Revelation 4:5 and 5:6.
The Millennial, 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven:
3**And His {the Messiahs} delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,
4**but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek {humble, teachable, Matthew 5:5} OF THE EARTH; and he shall strike the earth with the ROD OF HIS MOUTH, Revelation19:15 {the functioning Word of God}, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked {Armageddon}, Zechariah 14:13-15, 2Thessalonians 2:8.
OF THE EARTH here means He, Jesus Christ will reign over Planet Earth as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. The resurrected King David will rule Israel as its Eternal King, Ezekiel 37:24-25, Revelation 21:2426.
5**Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
6**The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a LITTLE CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM.
7**The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8**The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.
9**They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for THE EARTH SHALL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AS THE WATERS COVER THE SEA.
10**In that day the ROOT OF JESSE, shall stand as a signal for the peoples {Israel} —of him shall the nations {gentiles} Zechariah 8:23 inquire, and his resting place {in Jerusalem} shall be glorious.
The resurrected Eternal God the Word Incarnate, Revelation 19:13 will return but this time He will reign as the LORD OF LORDS and KING OF KINGS, Revelation 17:14 on planet Earth. The resurrected King David, Ezekiel 37:24 will be the King of Israel forever. There will be many Kings on planet Earth in their resurrected body’s for the millennial, 1000 reign of Jesus Christ as well as in the New Heaven and New Earth, Revelation chapter 21 the final eternal KINGDOM OF GOD, Revelation 21:24.
11**In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a SECOND TIME to recover the remnant that remains of his people {the exiles of Israel}, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
12**HE WILL RAISE A SIGNAL FOR THE NATIONS {GENTILES} AND WILL ASSEMBLE THE BANISHED OF ISRAEL {the Northern 10 tribes}, AND GATHER THE DISPERSED OF JUDAH {Judah and Benjamin} FROM THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.
13**The JEALOUSY OF EPHRAIM shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be CUT OFF; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim, Ezekiel 37:15-28.
Ephraim and Judah became enemies, Isaiah 7:2. Ephraim and the other 9 northern tribes were defeated and dispersed by Assyria in 723BC, Isaiah 7:8. The life of Isaiah spanned 4 kings of Judah, Isaiah 1:1. The destruction of Judah was prophesied by Isaiah and Jeremiah and Moses before them. King Uzziah of Judah reined from 767- 740BC, Isaiah 6:1.
Ephraim, the northern kingdom also called Israel was defeated during the life of Isaiah. Ephraim is the second born of Joseph in Egypt. The people of Ephraim are lastly mentioned in Zechariah 10:7-12, Isaiah 11:12 see above, with a great future prophesied.
Manasseh is the first born of Joseph in Egypt and his tribe, descendents are mentioned in Revelation 7:6 as one of the 12 tribes of the 144,000 whose job it will be to evangelize the world post, after the Church Rapture.
CUT OFF in verse 13 means that anyone who harasses Judah WILL BE KILLED. As we know many silly people have harassed Judah and many have already paid the price of Death.
Post, following Armageddon:
14**But they {Judah and Israel, verse 12 above} shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west, and together they shall plunder the people of the east, Ezekiel 14:14. They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites {Edom, Moab and Ammon are in Jordan} shall obey them.
15**And the LORD will utterly destroy the TONGUE of the Sea of Egypt, and will wave his hand over the River {the Nile river} with his SCORCHING BREATH, and strike it into SEVEN CHANNELS, and he will lead people across in sandals.
TONGUE is most probably referring to the DELTA created by the Nile River in Egypt which is a very fertile farming area. Some think verse 15 is referring to a consequence of the Dam at Aswan on the Nile River meaning that the Dam restricts the flow of fertile sediments.
Luke chapter 24:44-45
44**And He {Jesus} said to them {the Eleven Apostles}. These are the Words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that all the things MUST BE FULFILLED having been written in the LAW OF MOSES, and the PROPHETS, and the PSALMS {the Old Testament} CONCERNING ME.
45**Then He opened up their mind to understand the {Old Testament} Scriptures {CONCERNING HIMSELF}.
Commentary:
Much of the New Testament quotes and is devoted to explaining the Old Testament and demonstrating the fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy’s, Matthew 5:17.
It is important to understand that the temptations, suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ were demonstrations of His infallibility and impeccability as well as the price of our eternal freedom and salvation.
There never was a chance that He, Jesus Christ would fail but He was presented for our evaluation meaning YES, we choose Righteousness or NO, we choose Evil. God foreknew which choice we would make but we will be judged by our choices and not by God’s foreknowledge. Only the works of Christians will be Judged as they are saved by Grace, 1Corinthians 3:11-15.
Those who are not born again will be resurrected and judged for eternal life or death by the works of the Moral Law, the 10 commandments, John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:11:15, Romans chapter 2, Matthew 5:7, Luke 1:5-6.
Initial salvation is the start line for a race that leads to the finish line which is either our death or the Rapture, Hebrews 12:1.
Daniel 12:1-3
1**”Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise, Revelation 12:7-9. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time, Revelation 12:13-17; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued, Revelation 12:13-14.
This is the 70th week of Daniel 9:24-27. It will begin with the Rapture of the Church, Revelation 4:1 and end at Armageddon.
2**”Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, Revelation 20:4-6, these to everlasting life, BUT THE OTHERS to disgrace and everlasting contempt, Revelation 20:11-15.
3**”Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars {Angels} forever and ever, Luke 20:34-36.
Acts 24:14-15
14**But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets {the Old Testament},
15**having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the JUST AND THE UNJUST.
Commentary:
Satan is having his day in the sun, Romans 8:18-23 so that WE and two thirds of the HOST OF HEAVEN also called Angels and Sons of God, can understand that rule by terrorism does not get it done but loving God and our neighbor does, Luke 10:27.
Some righteousness is on display now but after Armageddon, the Final War. See; Daniel 9:26-27, Revelation 19:19-21, then righteousness will prevail.
The final rebellion will occur in Revelation 20:7-9. Their intent is to make War but they will be annihilated. The Saints will have departed planet Earth prior to that time. Another Rapture? probably!
Jesus rose up into the clouds, Acts 1:9-11. Will the Holy Spirit who indwells us give us that ability, Romans 8:28-31, YES!
Luke chapter 1:5-6
5**There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 **And they were BOTH RIGHTEOUS before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord BLAMELESS.
These two people were righteous and blameless before God but they were NOT SINLESS. Old testament saints followed the Law of Moses in the ordinances of God concerning the sacrifice of animals for sins committed.
These two and many others were of the faith of Abraham who was the Father of Faith, Romans 4:11-12. The Law of Moses, including animal sacrifice, was a tutor that led us to Christ, Galatians 3:16 and 19. God never accepted animal sacrifice for atonement but He always accepted FAITH which was expressed by obedience to His Instructions.
The righteous of the New Testament who are Saints of God who are chosen by God and not a Church, follow the New Testament instructions. 1John 1:7-10 is for the Saints of God. The successful ministry and sacrifice of Jesus Christ became the sacrifice for mankind and changed the priesthood of Aaron to the perpetual priest hood modeled after Melchizedek. Christ Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. In the end, all sins will be covered by God through Jesus Christ. Those who go to the Lake of Fire will go there with their sins paid for but their stubborn and unrepentant heart will defeat them.
The Old Testament, the Law of Moses has NOT been done away with, Matthew 5:17. The 10 commandments are still the standard of righteousness. The Jewish Temple was destroyed in 70AD; SO, they are no longer able to practice the Old Testament ordinances, but then, it is all by Grace, 1John 5:1-5.
THE EARTH WILL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, Isaiah 11:9, See below. The 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven will be ruled by a ROD OF IRON which is rule by Law, the ten commandments that are based on Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 10:27.
Our objective is to love, agapao which is the verb form of love that means doing as in, James 2:8 and 2:12-13 and 2:14-17.
IRON represents strength. Breaking of the Law will be a Capital Crime meaning the penalty is death. Because the penalty is so threatening, many of those that would normally sin will restrain themselves and those who do not will be eliminated.
So, the chaos that we currently have will not exist. The laws that we currently live under are based on God’s Law but have no teeth because of corrupt administration. The elite and heinous people can murder and be immune to prosecution.
The resurrected redeemed of God will have the Law written in their heart, 1John 5:1-5. Those born from the posterity, offspring of survivors of the GREAT TRIBULATION will be as we were prior to being Born Again and they will make a choice between righteousness and Evil. Many will be deceived by the Devil, Revelation 20:7-9. They will all be judged at the final resurrection, John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:6-15.
King David will be resurrected at the 1st resurrection and will rule over Israel forever, Ezekiel 37:24. The ordinances of verse 24 will be New Testament ordinances which are communion and water baptism.
Jesus Christ will reign by His humanity from Jerusalem over Planet Earth for 1000 years as LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS, Revelation 19:11-16.
When the 1000 years are completed then He, Jesus Christ will rule the Eternal Kingdom of God from His Deity, 1Corienthians 15:24-28.
1Timothy chapter 1:
5**But the goal of our instruction is love, Philippians 2:1-5 from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6**For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,
7**wanting to be TEACHERS OF THE LAW, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
Teachers of the Law here are Judaizers who promote the Law of Moses for salvation yet do not keep the Law themselves, Galatians 6:12-18. They believe that being born a Jew is their ticket to Heaven, Romans 2:17-29. See also, Acts 20:20-21.
8**But we know that the Law {the moral Law} is good, if one uses it lawfully,
9**REALIZING THE FACT THAT LAW IS NOT MADE FOR A RIGHTEOUS PERSON, BUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE LAWLESS AND REBELLIOUS, FOR THE UNGODLY AND SINNERS, FOR THE UNHOLY AND PROFANE, FOR THOSE WHO KILL THEIR FATHERS OR MOTHERS, FOR MURDERERS
10**AND IMMORAL MEN AND HOMOSEXUALS AND KIDNAPPERS AND LIARS AND PERJURERS, AND WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO SOUND TEACHING,
11**according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
There were REPENTANT homosexuals as well as sinners in other categories in the Church, 1Corinthians 6:9-12. 1Corinthians 5:1-5, Galatians 6:7-10, Revelation 22:13-15 are presented as examples of what not to be so that we may prove to be wise and walk with the Lord, WASHING OUR ROBES in the Christian Laundry, 1John 1:9.
Looking at the context of Revelation 22:13-15, the verse 15 people are saved but they returned to walking with the world and ignored their commitment to the Lord. They will not go to the Lake of Fire but they will have very reduced privileges and they will never enter the New Jerusalem, 2Peter 2:18-22.
After the 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven, all Evil and the sorrows that came with it will be put in the Lake of Fire and they will never re-emerge, Revelation 20:7-15.
The display of Evil is necessary so that we might know the fallacy of Evil and its destructive characteristics. So, Evil is on display now for our future benefit, Romans 8:19-23. Good and Evil are on display not just for us but also the Host Of Heaven, 1Timothy 5:21.
God foreknew the outcome before He created, 1Peter 1:20 but we did not. So, we must learn and choose which involves some suffering such as the loss of loved ones and different infirmities, See; Matthew 5:1-12 and Romans 8:18-23 and Hebrews chapter 12 for discipline.
There is no freedom or salvation in Evil. There is only short term gain through theft and murder and suffering of the innocent, Matthew 5:10-12.
Presentation:
Much symbolism is used in the Bible. The symbolism is quite deliberate and not an accident or the choice of translators.
Holy men of old wrote what they were directed to write by the Spirit of God, 2Peter 1:20-21 and 2Peter 3:15-18.
Because you are reading this it is obvious that you are open to information about God and His plans for the future. You are allowed to disagree with me or anyone else, Chapter and verse please, 1Corinthians 14:29.
A prophet of the Lord is one who speaks in the name of the Lord. For us it is reciting and interpreting the Bible only.
Foretelling prophecy ended, 1Corinthians 13:8-13 when John the last living Apostle recorded the Book of the Revelation in about 97AD which is the last book of our 66 book Bible.
With Bible based teaching we have ILLUMINATION from the Holy Spirit. See Daniel 9:24-27 for the unfolding plan of God to implement eternal righteous rule.
See Revelation chapters 19 and 20 for the end of all Evil and the beginning of the Eternal Kingdom of God.
After Messiah was first announced, Genesis 3:15 it was approximately 4,000 years before His arrival and ministry began and now it has been about 2000 years since that time. SO, we wait with patience using our time wisely, Ephesians 5:15-21, Colossians 4:5-6, 1Corinthians 2:12-16.
John chapter 4:23-24
23**But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father by means of God’s Spirit and by means of God’s truth, the {WORD OF GOD}: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him, John 3:5-8.
24**God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him by means of His Spirit and by means of His truth.
When the BORN AGAIN are reading the completed Bible, the Old and the New testaments, then we are FACE TO FACE with God, 1Corinthians 13:12-13. See also, Acts 20:20-21, Luke 24:47 for remission of sins, salvation.
The Church Rapture is next in the order of things. If there is no Church Rapture then why do we have Hebrews 11:5 as an example in the New Testament??? Hebrews chapter 11 is not for Hero worship but they are examples for us. Notice that in Hebrews chapter 11, Faith led them to do Righteous works, James 2:8-26.
See Genesis 5:23-24 for Enoch and 2Kings 2:11 for Elijah. See also; Revelation 4:1 and Revelation 11:3-12. Two Raptures have already occurred with 3 more to come.
PLEASE NOTE: The English wording varies from translation to translation but it is the substance of the context that we are looking for.
You will notice that there is a lot of redundancy in this commentary as well as other commentary’s that I write as it is for emphasis, learning of crucial factors for you and me.
Psalm 46:
10**Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the GENTILES, I will be exalted in the earth.
Romans chapter 15:
12** And again Isaiah says, “The ROOT OF JESSE will come, even He who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope, Isaiah 11:10.”
The Prophet Isaiah chapter 11:
1**There shall come forth a shoot from the STUMP OF JESSE, and a BRANCH FROM JESSE’S ROOTS.
Commentary:
A BRANCH from the ROOT OF JESSE is the DEITY of Messiah. The SHOOT from the stump of Jesse is the MORTAL HUMANITY of Messiah, John 1:1-15.
King David is a branch of Jesse his father. The Deity of Jesus is a branch of His father who is the Eternal God, John 1:1 and 14, Hebrews 10:5.
The shoot from the stump means that the shoot will arrive after the tree is cut down meaning when Jessie has been cut down meaning when Jessie is dead.
The shoots of the stump of Jesse are the future generations or seed of Jesse. Here it is specifically referring to one seed of Jesse which is the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15 that passes through Jesse and King David and many others in the genealogy of Luke 3:23-38 to the Virgin Mary. See also, Galatians 3:16 and 19.
This is a prophecy of the God-man Jesus presented in an allegorical way. A STUMP is left when the tree is cut down. The stumps of some trees continue to produce shoots after they are cut down. Stump, root and branch are being used here as allegories meaning that Jesse, the father of King David and many others, lived about 300 years before Isaiah recorded this Prophecy meaning Jesse was dead, Luke 3:31-32.
Luke 3:23-38 is the genealogy of Adam to Messiah which is the genealogy of the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15 to the Virgin Mary.
The BRANCH is from the ROOT OF JESSE, Isaiah 11:1 above. The root of Jesse and King David is GOD THE WORD, John 1:10, who is AN IDENTITY of ELOHYMN the Eternal God, John 1:1, Colossians 2:9, Genesis 1:1.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is KOSMOS or COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4. Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
Jesus who is GOD THE WORD incarnate, John 1:1 and 14 became Jesus Christ at His water baptism when the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost came upon Him, Luke 3:21-22 and He is also the root and offspring of King David, the son of Jesse, Revelation 22:16, Matthew 22:41-46. See also; Philippians 2:5-13 and Colossians 2:9 for the oneness of God.
The different names of the ONE GOD are different aspects of His Person. Each of us is a person but we may possess many names, titles such as Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Engineer, CEO or even a Military Rank. Each of these is a different aspect of our person with different values and duties.
The Seed:
The SEED OF THE WOMAN originated with Adam but was most probably transferred to Eve when God formed her, made her out of Adam. We know the seed originally came from Adam as the genealogy of Luke traces it to him, Luke 3:38.
Apparently, the seed that became the body of Messiah, Hebrews 10:5 in the ovum of the Virgin Mary was protected in Eve by design of the creator but the seeds still in Adam that became US were NOT protected when Adam and Eve transgressed. See also, 1Peter 1:20 where part of the mystery and preplanning of God is revealed.
Note here; this was not merely a happenstance but was foreknown and utilized by God as Acts 2:22-24 was with the ultimate purpose being that humans of reformed character, the BORN AGAIN, will replace the rebellious 1/3 of the Host of Heaven also called Angels and Sons of God, Genesis 6:2, Jude1:6, Job 1:6, and *Matthew 22:29-30, *Mark 12:24-25, *Luke 20:34-36. See also, Romans 8:19-23 and 11:32-33.
The Greek words translated CHILDREN of God in the KJV in *Matthew, *Mark and *Luke above should be translated SON’s of God. Sons of God here are Men and Women, Galatians 3:26 and 28 meaning it is not about gender but about perfection, Luke 3:22 and Romans 8:28-31.
The first Adam was a Son of God, Luke 3:38 but he lost that title when he transgressed becoming a sinner, a purely SOULISH MAN, also translated NATURAL MAN because he became something less than what he was made to be, 1Corinthians 2:14 and 15:45-58.
Genesis chapter 2:
7**And the LORD God FORMED MAN of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE; and man became a living soul.
The Hebrew word translated LIFE here is plural meaning there is more than one LIFE meaning; there is MORTAL LIFE, and SPIRITUAL LIFE.
When Adam and Eve transgressed their mortal, soulish LIFE remained but their Spiritual LIFE departed with its assets leaving them naked. See Matthew 17:2.
The Greek word translated WHITE in Revelation 3:4 also means LIGHT. Looking at the context a WHITE ROBE may actually be a ROBE OF LIGHT for Rapture Saints, Revelation 3:7-13 and post Rapture Tribulation Saints, Revelation 3:3 and 7:13-14, who washed their Robes in the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, 1John 1:7-10.
Adam lived for 930 years, Genesis 5:5. We have no record of the mortality of Eve that I am aware of. She bore sons and daughters. She is an important part of God’s foreknown plan and planning and NOT JUST FOR BEARING CHILDREN. We will meet her in God’s Heaven.
God, Elohiym is the source, guardian and redeemer of the human race. Our volition can betray us as it did Eve by the deception of Satan through her ignorance. Lies always take root in ignorance. The phrase OR TOUCH IT, Genesis 3:2-3 was added to God’s commandment, Genesis 3:11 perhaps by Adam and that may have been the catalyst for transgression.
We were born, made in the image of the first Adam but we are being conformed to the image of the second Adam, Romans 8:28-31, 1Corinthians 15:41-49.
The root of Jesse and King David is GOD THE WORD, John 1:10, Revelation 22:16, Matthew 22:41-46. The branch from the root of Jesse is the Deity of Messiah.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4. Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
In Luke 3:9 the root is being disconnected from the tree. Trees here are unbelieving individuals meaning they came from the same root, source but they were trees that produced no fruit by repentance with the fruit being righteous deeds, Luke 3:7-14, Acts 3:26.
In plain English:
The seed of the humanity of Messiah, Genesis 3:15, Galatians 3:16 and 19, THE SEED OF THE WOMAN came through Abraham and Isaac and Jesse and King David and Nathan and many others in the genealogy of Luke 3:23-38 and it was passed from husband to wife and finally to the Virgin Mary via, through her mother and from Eli {Heli} the father of Mary and grandfather of the humanity of Jesus where it was united with her ovum by the Holy Spirit, Luke1:26-35 and became the Body of God, Hebrews 10:5.
Matthew chapter 1:
16**JACOB fathered Joseph, THE HUSBAND OF MARY, who was the mother of Jesus, who is called the Messiah.
Luke chapter 3:
23**Jesus himself was about 30 years old when he began his ministry. He was (so it was thought) the son of Joseph, the son {grandson} of Heli.
Jacob is the father of Joseph, Matthew 1:16 above. Joseph is the stepfather of Jesus. SO, Heli must be the father of the Virgin Mary and Grandfather of the humanity of Jesus, Hebrews 10:5.
If we reconstruct verse 23** from the elements of the literal translation to a more comprehensive English sentence it would read:
JESUS WAS ABOUT THIRTY YEARS OLD WHEN HE BEGAN HIS MINISTRY. HE WAS THE SON {GRANDSON} OF HELI BUT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE SON OF JOSEPH.
Before the thirtieth, 30th birthday of Jesus he was under the authority and reputation of His stepfather Joseph. Only Mary and Joseph, Matthew 1:18-25 and Zacharias, Luke 1:39-56 and his wife Elisabeth and Simeon and Anna, Luke 2:25-38 knew who He really was.
The Deity of Jesus came from the root of Jesse. King David is a branch, son of Jesse. The root of Jesse and King David is the deity of Jesus, Revelation 22:16, John1:1 and 10, Romans 15:12.
The Greek word translated WORLD in John 1:10 is COSMOS which means the infrastructure of Genesis 2:3-4 meaning that GOD THE WORD was the contractor and ELOHIYM is the architect.
Genesis 2:3 shows both CREATE and MADE. Create means to bring into existence and made means to build or to form from existing material as in Genesis 2:7.
The spelling of names is different in different translations. The order of the names in Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:1-16 is important. Salmon is not Solomon, Matthew 1:5-6 but many men had the same names as we do today.
The problem here is NOT THE GREEK or HEBREW TEXT but the way we understand the text, 2Peter 3:16. The sentence structure of English, Hebrew and Greek are very different. The word grandson is not written but it is understood by the context in Greek and Hebrew.
Revelation chapter 5:
5**And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the ROOT OF DAVID, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Two New Testament Genealogies:
The genealogy of Matthew and Luke are very much different after King David with Solomon, born of Bathsheba in Matthew and Nathan in Luke who is the true line from King David leading to Messiah, Luke 3:31.
Matthew 1:16 makes it quite plain that Matthew is the genealogy of Joseph the step father of Jesus. This means that the SEED OF THE WOMAN did not pass through Solomon but through Nathan.
Note here that God chooses the successor to the throne of Israel, 1Samuel 16:11-13. Also, Note that David is from Jesse who is from the tribe of Judah and not from King Saul who is from the tribe of Benjamin. Jesus is the ONLY eternal, perpetual King Priest after the Order of Melchisedec, Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 6:20.
Matthew 1:17 also gives us a time line from David to Messiah of 28 generations which is about 1000 years. Matthew 1:22-23 quotes the Prophet Isaiah from Isaiah 7:14.
Matthew 1:18-25 also makes it quite plain that Joseph is NOT the father of Jesus. The intent of Matthew 1:16-25 apparently is to show that Joseph is NOT the father of Jesus but His guardian until age 30, Luke 3:23.

1**The book of the GENERATION of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Please note here that GENERATION is singular and not plural meaning 1 generation and not 2 or more meaning it is a record of the time that Messiah was on Earth and His time of Ministry as recorded in the book of Matthew.
Because Jesus is mentioned in verse 1** as the Son of both Abraham, Luke 3:34 and David , Luke 3:31 who were generations apart then we understand that it is referring to something common to both which in this case would be the SEED OF THE WOMAN, Genesis 3:15.
Matthew chapter 1:

1**This is a record of the LIFE OF JESUS the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Matthew 1:1 is sometimes translated differently. The ISV translation here also shows us that Matthew 1:1 is referring to the whole book of Matthew and not just the genealogy of Matthew.
The remaining portions of Matthew chapter 1 prove that Joseph is not the father of Jesus as well as other pertinent information and that is the purpose of this inspired writing. It is imperative to assemble the pieces of the Bible to see the Word Picture, 2Timothy 2:15. This is not just good advice but it is necessary to understand the intricate way it is designed, Daniel 12:8-13, 1Peter 1:10-12, 1Corinthians 13:8-13.
The KJV, translation in my opinion is more easily understood than the newer translations in several areas but the newer translations can be very helpful. Many teachers today prefer the NASB translation. Quite often I read many translations and my limited knowledge of Hebrew and Greek also help to get a consensus of the meaning. Only God knows it all. God the Holy Spirit is our teacher; So, we must be born again. Don’t forget 2Timothy 2:15 as the Bible is His textbook.
Isaiah chapter 11 continued:
2**And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him {Messiah}, Luke 3:21-22, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD, Revelation 4:5 and 5:6.
Jesus was born the God-man, John 1:1-15 who is GOD THE WORD but humbled Himself by becoming, taking the form of a man, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 2:8-9 meaning His Deity is the essence of God but He lived as a man which was a demonstration of self control as in Him dwelt the fullness of the God Head bodily, Colossians 2:9, Revelation 4:5 and 5:6.
The Millennial, 1000 year Kingdom of Heaven.
3**And His {the Messiahs} delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,
4**but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek {humble, teachable, Matthew 5:5} OF THE EARTH; and he shall strike the earth with the ROD OF HIS MOUTH, Revelation19:15 {the functioning Word of God}, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked {Armageddon}, Zechariah 14:13-15, 2Thessalonians 2:8.
OF THE EARTH here means He, Jesus Christ will reign over Planet Earth as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. The resurrected King David will rule Israel as its Eternal King, Ezekiel 37:24-25, Revelation 21:2426.
5**Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
6**The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a LITTLE CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM.
7**The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8**The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.
9**They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for THE EARTH SHALL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AS THE WATERS COVER THE SEA.
10**In that day the ROOT OF JESSE, shall stand as a signal for the peoples {Israel} —of him shall the nations {gentiles} Zechariah 8:23 inquire, and his resting place {in Jerusalem} shall be glorious.
The resurrected Eternal God the Word Incarnate, Revelation 19:13 will return but this time He will reign as the LORD OF LORDS and KING OF KINGS, Revelation 17:14 on planet Earth. The resurrected King David, Ezekiel 37:24 will be the King of Israel forever. There will be many Kings on planet Earth in their resurrected body’s for the millennial, 1000 reign of Jesus Christ as well as in the New Heaven and New Earth, Revelation chapter 21 the final eternal KINGDOM OF GOD, Revelation 21:24.
11**In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a SECOND TIME to recover the remnant that remains of his people {the exiles of Israel}, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
12**HE WILL RAISE A SIGNAL FOR THE NATIONS {GENTILES} AND WILL ASSEMBLE THE BANISHED OF ISRAEL {the Northern 10 tribes}, AND GATHER THE DISPERSED OF JUDAH {Judah and Benjamin} FROM THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.
13**The JEALOUSY OF EPHRAIM shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be CUT OFF; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim, Ezekiel 37:15-28.
Ephraim and Judah became enemies, Isaiah 7:2. Ephraim and the other 9 northern tribes were defeated and dispersed by Assyria in 723BC, Isaiah 7:8. The life of Isaiah spanned 4 kings of Judah, Isaiah 1:1. The destruction of Judah was prophesied by Isaiah and Jeremiah and Moses before them. King Uzziah of Judah reined from 767- 740BC, Isaiah 6:1.
Ephraim, the northern kingdom also called Israel was defeated during the life of Isaiah. Ephraim is the second born of Joseph in Egypt. The people of Ephraim are lastly mentioned in Zechariah 10:7-12, Isaiah 11:12 see above, with a great future prophesied.
Manasseh is the first born of Joseph in Egypt and his tribe, descendents are mentioned in Revelation 7:6 as one of the 12 tribes of the 144,000 whose job it will be to evangelize the world post, after the Church Rapture.
CUT OFF in verse 13 means that anyone who harasses Judah WILL BE KILLED. As we know many silly people have harassed Judah and many have already paid the price of Death.
Post, following Armageddon:
14**But they {Judah and Israel, verse 12 above} shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west, and together they shall plunder the people of the east, Ezekiel 14:14. They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites {Edom, Moab and Ammon are in Jordan} shall obey them.
15**And the LORD will utterly destroy the TONGUE of the Sea of Egypt, and will wave his hand over the River {the Nile river} with his SCORCHING BREATH, and strike it into SEVEN CHANNELS, and he will lead people across in sandals.
TONGUE is most probably referring to the DELTA created by the Nile River in Egypt which is a very fertile farming area. Some think verse 15 is referring to a consequence of the Dam at Aswan on the Nile River meaning that the Dam restricts the flow of fertile sediments.
SEVEN CHANNELS probably means that much more of the Egyptian desert will become fertile farming land meaning the DESERT WILL BLOSSOM. This will also occur in the deserts of the expanded nation of Israel much of which is currently Northern Arabia. Israel will be expanded to what was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
If the sea level rises which may be a consequence of Isaiah 40:3-4, Luke 3:5, Revelation 16:18 which will cause a great change in the Earth’s Topography and possibly Sea levels and then the Delta would be ruined for farming BUT, not to worry as all will be glorious, ISAIAH CHAPTER 35.
16**And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.

JESSE here is the father of King David and King David is the great grandfather of the humanity of Jesus through His mother the Virgin Mary making Jesus the chosen heir to the throne of the King of Israel as was David. See the Genealogy of Luke 3:21-38. The genealogy of Matthew 1:1-16 is the genealogy of Joseph, the step father of Jesus.
Israel crucified Jesus who was messiah, the King of Israel, the Son of David who could have returned the throne to Israel but they chose to murder their King instead of repenting of their sins, Acts 3:26, Matthew 17:10-13, Luke 13:34.
Consequently they were destroyed and the AGE OF ISRAEL, the Kingdom of Heaven was deferred for at least 2000 years. The survivors went into slavery and exile and the infirmed were put to the sword.
Not to worry as all of this was foreknown by God who appointed the Apostle Paul and sent the Gospel to and through the Gentiles.
Saul was the first anointed King of Israel. He was chosen by lot according to the will of God by the Prophet Samuel, 1Samuel 10:19-21. Saul was chosen by God as an answer to the will of the people, 1Samuel 10:19. God chooses people for His own reasons and does not always disclose the reason to men but there is always a purpose.
David, the youngest son of Jesse was the second King of Israel and He was appointed through and anointed by the Prophet Samuel, 1Samuel 16:1-13. Lots were not cast and there were no other persons involved in the selection accept the prophet Samuel who was sent by God to anoint David.
An interesting contrast here is that Jesus who became the Christ at His water baptism by submersion, the start of His ministry, Luke 3:21-22 was anointed by the spirit of God and not by a prophet. The Born Again are also anointed by the Spirit of God, becoming Sons of God and they are in the Body of Christ, the Church, Galatians 3:25-29 NASB.
The KJV translates υἱός as Children and not Sons. However; we are first children and then mature SON’s, Romans 8:14-23. The phrase PROJECTED SONS OF GOD could be understood here as it is a guaranteed process backed up by the foreknowledge and predestination of God, Romans 4:17 KJV and Romans 8:28-30.
Baptism here is water baptism as determined by the Greek text which is an act of personal will and cannot be done by proxy meaning we must personally submit.
Infant baptism which is actually sprinkling is an act of dedication to the Lord by a parent and is an acceptable thing and loosely based on 1Samuel chapter one. Only adults are old enough to understand the ritual of baptism by submersion and submit by their own will after dedicating themselves to the Lord plan of Salvation by repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:20-21, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:37-39. See also, Revelation 3:4-5.
I was sitting in a pew in a Free Methodist Church at the age of 14 listening to a message from the Pastor and I thought THAT’S FOR ME. At the invitation I did not go forward, walk the aisle as they say on that day. I met a Gideon at the front door of the Church and I still have the New Testament that I inscribed with a dedication that probably was suggested by the Gideon. That New Testament is still with me today at the age of 78. My school grades increased greatly probably because I was being prepared for life and what I do today.
I did go forward and I was water baptized by submersion in a Southern Baptist Church at about the age of 34. One late night I was led by the Holy Spirit to Isaiah 6:8. I was a little bit stunned but I responded later that same night, SEND ME.
My life changed again with a very long list and has taken me to where I am today. It has been quite a trip.
The message of Isaiah 6:9 is still true but the redeemed have the option of comprehension through their volition to choose obedience, Ephesians 4:11-15.
We will never be sorry even though we suffer for the lord and we are despised by some! Please, do not seek persecution as some do but love your neighbor, Philippians 2:1-5. Some Christians and some pretenders are just plain obnoxious. We need to be wise as a Serpent and harmless as a Dove, Matthew 10:16.
The Prophet Job had some knowledge of truth which enabled him to withstand his testing by false doctrine and suffering, Job 42:1-17. The word SEE, Job 42:5 means COMPREHENSION that came from what Job heard, see Job chapter 38-41. God spoke to Job from a literal whirlwind, Job 38:1. NO mortal can see God’s face and live, Exodus 33:20, John 1:18.
Job was qualified for his testing. Our Lord Jesus Christ was the only one qualified for the ultimate testing which led to Calvary and His resurrection.
1Kings chapter 2:
1**When David’s time to die drew near, he commanded Solomon his son, saying,
2**”I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man,
3**and keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,
4**that the lord may establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘if your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, YOU SHALL NOT LACK A MAN ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL, Genesis 49:10, Luke 2:25-40.
In 70AD Judah was destroyed after they murdered the King anf Messiah Jesus Christ. Some inhabitants returned and remained, Luke 21:20-24, Acts 13:46-49.
The Future:
Jerusalem was recaptured by Israel in the 6 day war of June 1967.The King of Kings will arrive soon, Revelation 19:11-21 and He will rule the world from Jerusalem.
The resurrected King David, the son of Jesse will be the eternal King of Israel, Ezekiel 37:24-25. That will occur about 7 year’s post, after the Church Rapture. See also, Daniel chapter 12 KJV.
Israel became a state again in 1947. Matthew 24:32-34 says that the context of Matthew chapter 24 will be completed by that generation. By adding 80 years, Psalm 90:10 to 1947 we get the year 2027. Don’t sell anything!
