Romans 5:19 For just as through one man’s disobedience many people were made sinners, so also through one man’s obedience many people will be made righteous.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold,
I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is.
Because passed away is part of this context, verse 21:1 it probably simply means the Old Earth, Heaven, and Sea will simply pass away meaning they will disintegrate and no longer exist.
The first heaven here is probably the heaven of Genesis 1:6-8.
The first earth here is the refurbished earth which will be restored for human habitation after the destructions caused by the spirit of the Anti-christ and the Beast of the revived Roman empire and will last for 1000 years, the âKingdom of Heavenâ and then will be destroyed, Revelation 11:18.
Revelation 11:18 And the nations were full of wrath; and Your wrath came, and the time of the judging of the dead, and to give the reward to Your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to the ones fearing Your name, to the small and to the great, and to destroy those destroying the earth.
Ones here highlights this category and could mean tribulation survivors, Rev. 7:13-14 and/or survivors of the âGreat White Throneâ judgment, Rev 20:12-15.
The Saints here comes from the word sanctify meaning to be set aside in the world by the Holy Spirit for Jehovah God’s purpose and includes old testament believers as well.
Sea here is in the singular probably because part of the refurbishment of planet earth will be the return of the continents to one land mass and the seas to one sea.
Sea here could also mean a particular sea such as the Mediterranean or even the sea of Galilee or even a metaphor representing an object or group of some kind.
When we study the Bible we acquire knowledge but when God opens our mind to understand knowledge then we have wisdom, 2Peter 3:15, Acts 16:14.
The three components here; the heaven, the earth and the sea will disappear possibly meaning dissolve or disintegrate.
Hebrews 1:3 see below, tell us that the creator God holds all things together by the word of His power meaning that He, the creator God speaks the word to the elements, components and they will simply break apart, dissolve probably just returning to pure energy.
Albert Einstein said that all matter could be converted to energy. He did not believe in a personal God but believed in a pantheistic God meaning we are just part of nature.
We can only speculate about the invisible which can lead to idolatry. Without the Bible we cannot know the truth and many distort its meaning.
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was prepared by the âWord of Godâ, John 1:1-3, so that what is seen was made from things that are invisible.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a Great White Throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.
Fled here can mean vanish meaning they disappeared, dissolved returning to their invisible components which could possibly be something like atoms and molecules.
There does not seem to be a consensus among Scientist, Physicist as to what the smallest of particles are as they speculate about the invisible.
The Diety of Jesus Christ:
Hebrews 1:2 God hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds, universe, John 1:1-3,10;
Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Distruction of Earth and the Heavens:
2Peter 3:5 For this is hidden from them by their willing it so, they simply don’t want it to be true, that heavens were of old, and earth by water, and through water, having subsisted by the âWord of Godâ, John 1:1-3,
2Peter 3:6 through which the world which then was, being flooded by water, perished.
2Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth now, having been stored up by the same Word, are being kept for fire to a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
When God’s plan of redemption is complete, Planet Earth and the Heavens, the creation will collapse meaning they will return to their base elements meaning their form, what we see will disappear, disintegrate returning to their invisible base elements, probably meaning some form of energy.
2Peter 3:8 But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is “as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” Psalm 90:4.
The meaning here is time, our short life span is important to us but God deals in epics meaning eras or dispensations which are all preplanned by God for our learning and documentation which is being written in books that will be opened at the âGreat White Throneâ for those not redeemed by Grace, the second resurrection, Revelation 20:11-15.
2Peter 3:9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to, through repentance.
Nothaving purposed any to perish means that God did not create any Angels or Humans to perish but He created them with volition, free will and intelect but through self induced arrogance they did not honor Jehovah but chose self gratification instead.
2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with rushing sound, and having burned the elements will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be burned up.
In here means inside of this time period, epic which is the day of the lord but at the end of this time period and subsequently putting us at the âGreat White Throneâ Judgment.
This is not a scorching but a burning to annihilation such as an atomic weapon when triggered.
2Peter 3:11 Then all these being about to be dissolved, of what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness,
A warning to those laying up treasures on Earth which will be consumed by the fire.
2Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, through, because of which the heavens having been set afire will be dissolved; and burning,the elements will melt?
2Peter 3:13 Butaccording to His promise, we look for “new heavens and a new earth,” in which only righteousness dwells, Isaiah. 65:17
This is the final and eternal kingdom, the âkingdom of Godâ which will continue after the 1000 year âKingdom of Heavenâ meaning the âKingdom of Heavenâ will expire and will be followed by destruction of the created earth and heavens that we now abide in and then will come the âGreat White Throneâ judgment and then the Eternal Kingdom, Revelation 12:10.
Revelation 12:10 And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers, Satan is thrown down, the one accusing them before our God day and night.
The and here is a connector, conjunction between two different things, the Kingdom of Godandthe authority of His Christ who is Jesus.
What I understand is going on here is that God, Jehovah has granted a hearing to Satan who has challenged Grace through Jesus who is God’s Christ meaning that He, Jesus is the chosen of God to rule the world for 1000 years having earned that right through obedience to God His Father who is Jehovah, as demonstrated by the life of Jesus leading to Calvary.
What we see happening in the world today is working in concert with Satan’s argument.
The advantage for us is we can see the weakness of Satan’s argument the outcome of which demonstrates to God’s elect both Angels and Humans the fallacy of Evil which only destroys depleting the assets of the righteous.
Matthew 19:23 And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:24 “And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19:23, the âKingdom of Heavenâ and Matthew 19:24 the âKingdom of Godâ are two different times in the future.
The âKingdom of Heavenâ will last for 1000 years and will be ruled with a rod of iron, rule by the laws of God, a time of world peace and great prosperity for all.
The 1000 year citizens of planet Earth will be resurrected Old Testament saints, Daniel 12:1-2, Also, survivors of Armageddon who passed the works judgment of the sheep and the Goats, Matthew 25:32-46 with their offspring many of which will rebel against the rule of rightness and will attack the old Jerusalem at the end of the age.
The âKingdom of Godâ, the Eternal kingdom will begin after the complete destruction of planet earth and our universe and after the âGreat White Throneâ a judgment of works where the History Books will be opened.
Only those choosing righteousness through repentance will dwell there with all others in the âLake of Fireâ, the ones who rejected God’s plan of redemption through repentance, Acts 17:29:34. See also Romans chapter 2.
2Peter 3:14 Because of this, beloved, looking for these things, be diligent, spotless, and without blemish, to be found in peace by Him.
2Peter 3:15 And think of the long-suffering, patience of our Lord as salvation, as also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him;
2Peter 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the unlearned and unsettled pervert, as also they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
2Peter 3:17 Then beloved, you knowing beforehand, watch lest being led away by the error of the lawless you fall from your own steadfastness.
2Peter 3:18 But, but here is referring to verse 3:16-17, grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
The New Jerusalem:
Revelation 21:2 And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, having been prepared as a bride, having been adorned for her Husband.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men! And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
Acts 7:49 and Rev. 21:3 work together illustrating that the entirety of God will not be present in the New Jerusalem but will be represented by Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh with Jesus who is the tabernacle, Humanity of God, the âBody of Godâ, Hebrews 10:5, being the lamp of God, Rev. 21:23.
Hebrews 10:5 For this reason, coming into the world, He, God the Son says, “Sacrifice and offering You, God the Father did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me.
Acts 7:49 “Heaven is My throne, and the earth the footstool of My feet; what house will you build Me,” “says the Lord,” “or what the place of My rest?”, see also Isaiah 66:1-5.
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light, Lamp thereof.
