EXPLICIT BIBLE TRUTH
Jesus
Who is he
What is he
Why is he
Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: KJV
Matthew 7:8 For everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the door opened. ISV
Romans 5:19 For as through the one man’s disobedience (Adam) the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One (man, Christ Jesus) the many will be made righteous (righteousness is the gift of God, Rom. 3:21-24, Eph. 2:8-10, ISV, KJV).
TODAY’S Comments!
âFACE TO FACEâ
1Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues, languages, of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1Corinthians 13:2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
1Corinthians 13:3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
1Corinthians 13:5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
1Corinthians 13:6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
1Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1Corinthians 13:8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
Prophecies above are fore telling prophecies meaning new information from god that has not yet been revealed. We know this because of verse 9-10 below. Forth telling prophecies have been recorded beforehand and come from prophets, teachers who receive illumination, a message from God the Holy Spirit. Forth telling prophecies, teachings are in the Bible and they are revealed to gifted men for the edification of the Church. Men and women claiming to speak for God are sometimes clouds without water or false Prophets, false teachers , 2Peter chapter 2.
Tongues or languages , 1Corinthians 14: 21-22 Isaiah 28:11-12 were given as a sign to unbelievers (Israel) and first appear in acts chapter 2:11. Verse 9-10 seem to indicate that prophecies were also given through tongues, languages. While Corinth is in Greece, a gentile country, there certainly may have been Jews of the dispersion living there. Many claim to have the âGift of Languagesâ. As all Spiritual Gifts are bestowed by God the Holy Spirit then all those speaking in tongues will answer to God and not to me or any other human . The rules for speaking in a Tongue other than their native language are clearly presented in 1Corinthians chapter 14. Some say that tongues are of the Devil . They should be very careful judging as they may be blaspheming the Holy Spirit Matthew 12:24,32. Now abide faith, hope, love.
Knowledge. The Greek word here is gnoosis meaning in this context current knowledge or that which is known . Verse 9 again uses a form of gnoosis which is translated âwe know in partâ or have incomplete knowledge with the balance of knowledge coming through prophecy. Again verse 9-10 explain the meaning as partial knowledge is always replaced by full knowledge, see verse 10. Full or complete knowledge means that after complete knowledge comes there will be no more revelation through prophecy in the Church age. After the Church Rapture revelation may continue for Israel during the 70th week of Daniel 9:24.
1Corinthians 13:9 For we know in part and we
prophesy in part,
1Corinthians 13:10 but when the perfect, complete, comes, the partial will pass away.
What is in view here is the completion of the Scriptures as revealed by God the Holy Spirit through prophets for the Church age. The last inspired book for us is the vision given to the Apostle John and is called the âBook of the Revelationâ.
1Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.
The Apostle Paul is a mature Christian and will use the completed New Testament Scripture Canon as he also uses the Old Testament Scripture Canon by rightly dividing the âWord of Truthâ, 2Timothy 2:15. The Apostle Paul did not live to see the completed Canon and the Apostle John probably did not know that he was recording the last book for the New Testament Canon , 1Peter 1:10-12.
1Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
A mirror dimly is referring to the âWord of God, the incomplete Bibleâ.
I shall know fully is referring to the complete âWord of God, the completed Bible â.
Face to face is referring to being âFACE TO FACEâ with God via the “Word of God”.
Exodus 33:11 And Jehovah would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend, John 15:14-17. And he would return to the camp. And his attendant, Joshua the son of Nun, a young man did not leave the middle of the tabernacle.
Exodus 33:12 And Moses said to Jehovah, Behold, You are saying to me, Cause this people to go up. And You, You have not told me whom You will send with me. And yet You have said, I know you by name, and also you have found favor in My eyes.
Exodus 33:13 And now, if I have found favor in Your eyes, please make me see Your ways, and let me know You, so that I may find favor in Your eyes; and consider that this nation (Israel) is Your people.
Jew & Gentile!
Romans 9:22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
Romans 9:23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory–
Romans 9:24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?
Romans 9:25 As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved, Hosea chapter 2 and 3.'”
Romans 9:26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God,
Romans 9:27 And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved,
Faith, Hope, Love!
1Corinthians 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, remain , these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our instruction, that through patience and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Rom 15:5 And may the God of patience and encouragement give to you to mind the same thing among one another according to Christ Jesus,
Ron
