Prayer Requests

James 5:13–Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.

James 5:14–Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, ANOINTING him with oil in the name of the Lord;

James 5:15–and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and IF he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

IF in verse 5:15 should be translated SENSE as APPARENTLY the persons illness is a result of sinful living, Hebrews chapter 12.

The word translated ANOINTING in verse 5:14 should be translated MEDICATE because the oil is medicinal and not mystical.  The Elders here are Elders that are skilled in MEDICAL PRACTICE.  Today we call them M.D’s, Medical Doctors or Surgeons.

Luke the Gospel writer was also a Roman Physician and companion of the Apostle Paul and probably attended to Paul’s many bruises, 2Corinthians 11:24-25.

Many Doctors today do PRAY over their patients and I have been under the care of several.  Many or even most Hospitals today were started by different Church Denominations and many Doctors are Christians.

God has made provision for the Body to heal itself but He still is the Master of Life and death and the protector of all who serve or will serve a useful purpose meaning they are examples of Moral living or are supporters of God’s projected outcome either willingly or otherwise as God is the manager of all things, Daniel 11:1 and using Evil as a tool.

The loss of Human life is fearful to humans but dying can actually be a great benefit for some.  Murder and suicide are not blessed departures but many in severe pain may be excused from criticism.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the Judge REGARDLESS OF OPINION.

James 5:16–THEREFORE, CONFESS YOUR SINS TO ONE ANOTHER, AND PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER SO THAT YOU MAY BE HEALED. THE EFFECTIVE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN CAN ACCOMPLISH MUCH.

Be careful who you confess your sins to as some are gossips and busybodies, 1Timothy 5:13.

The context of 1Timothy 5:9-16 is about widows who are over the age of 60 and are supported by the Church having made a commitment to serve Christ and not remarry.  Younger widows are not recommended for this group for the stated reasons and they should get remarried for the best outcome meaning they may forget their vow and yield to desire as Satan did and does, breaking vows.  This is not about salvation which is a gift not earned but probably has a lot to do with rewards which are won or lost by faithful service, commitments, Luke 16:10-12.

Doctors do the adding and subtracting through Medical skills but it is God who has mastery over Life and Death.

James 5:17–Elijah was a man with a nature like ours (he had an old sin nature too), and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

James 5:18–Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.

James 5:19–My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back,

James 5:20–let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his SOUL FROM DEATH and will cover a multitude of sins.

Death here is probably mortal death, Matthew 26:38, Mark 14:34.  The Greek word, THANATOS translated death here means to separate.  The Greek word for corpse is NEKROS.  The Greek word for the state of being dead is APOTHANESKO, Matthew 9:24 meaning the Spirit has left the Body.  In this case the girl was in a coma but not dead.

Luke 6:27–“But I say to you who hear, love, agape your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

Luke 6:28–bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

We would very much appreciate your Prayer for “Explicit Bible Truth” especially that the provided information would be comprehensive and informative and accurate that we might all understand the WHO-WHAT-WHY of God’s Mystery as presented in the Bible.

If we have personal sin God has provided 1John 1:9 to cover our sin which is a provision of the Melchisedec priesthood by the onetime offering and acceptance of Jesus by God our Father. If we have been involved in a sin for an extended period of time having ignored warning discipline and life is now become uncomfortable then we can solicit the prayers of Fellow Members of the BODY OF CHRIST with an attitude of repentance as God is omniscient, all knowing, Galatians 6:7-8.
A Prayer request is simply soliciting members of the BODY OF CHRIST, which is the MELCHISEDEC PRIESTHOOD, Hebrews chapter 7 which is gender free, Galatians 3:28-29 for intersession on behalf of a person who is saved or not saved.
The naming of sordid details is not necessary but only the naming of a violated commandment 1-10 or even the greater commandments “Loving God” or “loving your neighbor” is sufficient, 1John 5:1-5.–The Omniscient God already knows the sordid details.
Please let us know how we can pray for you. If you wish to keep your prayer request private please check the “keep private” check-box, otherwise your name and prayer will be posted publicly on this page.
(E-mail addresses are always kept private)
We need first names only with a brief history and the prayer being requested, for example;
My daughter, spouse, niece, nephew, sister, brother, neighbor, etc;
Mary, Bill, etc; has been diagnosed with ABC and is currently undergoing medical treatment.  She, he is 12-99 years old and has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, etc;  Please pray that God will heal and restore me, her, him to a life which will please and honor God.

A request for a Job or money to meet current and future needs with a short history, for example;
Bill, Jane is currently unemployed and I, he, she need and want a job.  Please pray that God will change my, their attitude toward employers and other employees and provide a safe and comfortable work environment.

Employment or medical conditions may have nothing whatsoever to do with any personal sin but we all sin, 1John 1:7-10.  Tribulation is a tool used by God for attitude adjustment, Romans 5:3-6, Revelation 3:19, Hebrews chapter 12.
