EXPLICIT BIBLE TRUTH
Jesus
Who is He
What is He
Why is He
For those walking with the Lord as we should walk this is information only but when we stray and we all do stray then it is for application also.
God does not get mad at us as perhaps our parents did and punished us but the objective of Gods discipline is to turn us around to head toward Him and away from our worldly ways.
Worldly ways have consequence many of which are very unpleasant.
Discipline is used by God for the perfecting of the Saints, Proverbs 3:11, Hebrews chapter 12.
The objective of commentary is to simplify the written word that came to us by different languages and from different cultures that were common in their time.
The English language has changed much over the centuries so we try to keep in step as all translations attempt to do including the KJV also giving us the authorized RV and NKJV.
We have approximately 5000 ancient New Testament manuscripts that when compared to each other give us an accurate picture of the original documents.
We have the Septuagint also called the LXX which is a Greek translation of the Old Testament completed by Jewish scholars around 300BC and we have more than 900 manuscripts found in the caves at Qumran also called the “Dead Sea Scrolls”.
The Bible is a text book much like any text book in any school and as such should be studied and not worshiped.
The Bible is a tool used by the Holy Spirit by which we worship God and the Son of God who is Jesus Christ, John 4:23-24.
Many have sat their Bible on a dusty shelf to be admired and there it remains.
Salvation by works:
You can be a Jew and a Christian but you cannot be a Muslim and a Christian as the Jewish –Christian God and the Muslim God are two entirely different God’s with entirely different messages to the World.
The first born of Abraham was Ishmael (1500BC) who is the Patriarch of the Arabic people and from him to the Prophet Mohammad who lived (570AD-632AD) is a time span of about 2070 years.
The Koran was written after his death in 632AD reportedly from notes made during his life before his death.
The Messiah of Israel:
The Law, the Psalms and the Prophets in the Old Testament contained the credentials for the coming Jewish Messiah ending with the Book of Malachi some 400 years before the birth of Jesus, Luke 24:44-48.
The Old Testament and New Testament were dictated by the Holy Spirit to writers chosen by God, 2Timothy 3:16 and 2Peter 1:20-21 and Hebrews 1:1-2 and Acts 3:18,21 and Acts 4:25.
The New Testament was completed and existed in hand written form even translations before the death of John the last living Apostle before 100AD.
The English translations came after the fall of Rome and during the “Dark Ages” of Europe.
Tyndale and Wycliffe were pioneers who translated Greek and Hebrew into English insisting on accuracy.
They were both apposed by established apostate religion who had Tyndale strangled and then burned at the stake.
The body of Wycliffe was dug up some years after his death by the same people and burned to ashes and then they dumped the ashes in a river.
Established religion is the realm of Satan who apposes truth and so on it goes until the “Kingdom of Heaven” is established.
Ishmael was circumcised by the direction of Yahweh as was Abraham, Genesis 17:1-27 meaning the God of Abraham who is Yahweh who was known to Abraham as God Almighty, Exodus 6:3 LITV was also the God of Ishmael.
The seed of the woman, Genesis 3:15 became Jesus who is the humanity of the God-Man Jesus Christ who is Yahweh in the flesh, Colossians 2:8-9.
The seed of Genesis 3:15 was not passed through Ishmael the first born of Abraham but it was passed through the second born of Abraham who was Isaac.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful!
For they shall obtain mercy.
The Work of God:
John 6:28 They said therefore to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He, God has sent.”
The Grace of God is not License to sin:
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness (license), and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:8 And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), “Let us do evil that good may come”? Their condemnation is just.
Condemnation here means they were blaspheming the message of the Holy Spirit, Mark 3:28-30 and in effect denying their way to salvation.
Romans 3:9 What then? are we better than they? NO, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of Jews and Greeks, (gentiles) that they are all under sin;
Romans 3:10 as it is written, There is none righteous (self righteous), no, not one.
The Redeemed:
Ephesians 2:1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
Ephesians 2:2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit (antichrist) that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 2:3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature (sons of Adam) children of wrath, even as the rest.
Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead (condemned to death by our transgressions) in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Ephesians 2:6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places (present tense, positional and guaranteed truth), in Christ Jesus,
Ephesians 2:7 in order that in the ages to come He, God MIGHT show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
In the original Greek:
MIGHT is conditional and has to do with rewards.
We strive to walk with the Lord in obedience to his commandments which are not grievous but like children we still sin, 1John 1:8-9, and 1John 5:1-3.
You have been saved here is not conditional but is a permanent Gift, John 14:16.
John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
John 14:17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Ephesians 2:9 not as a result of works, that no one should boast.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, Romans 8:28-29 created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Before Repentance and Regeneration:
Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God;
Romans 3:12 They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one:
Good Works for Salvation:
Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I (ego) do to inherit eternal life?”
Luke 18:19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
The question here is what shall I (ego) do to inherit eternal life.
The answer is to keep the commandments of God and sell all of his possessions (Luke 18:20-23) and give the proceeds to the poor which he probably did not do.
We cannot focus on riches and do some assigned ministries of God; However, there are many saved rich people who are very generous with their wealth.
Salvation is by Grace and Grace alone. Our good works leading to salvation are as filthy rags, meaning bloody minstrel rags before God.
A bloody minstrel rag is proof that the woman did not conceive meaning she is not with child meaning our good deeds did not conceive or bring forth salvation through our righteousness, Isaiah 64:6.
It is not what we are but what we are becoming, what we shall be, Romans 8:29-30.
Grace Salvation:
Act 16:28 But Paul cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here!”
Act 16:29 And he (the Jailer) called for lights and rushed in and, trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas,
Act 16:30 and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I (ego) do to be saved?”
Act 16:31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, (Luke 24:47) and you shall be saved, you and your household.”
Act 16:32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house.
Act 16:33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.
There MAY HAVE BEEN a river or pond close by but this probably means Holy Spirit Baptism but in any event they could be simultaneous, Acts 2:38 but many like the thief at Calvary were never water Baptized but very definitely saved.
Because the word immediately was used here I suspect this is Holy Spirit Baptism as in Galatians 3:2.
Act 16:34 And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household.
They believed the message of God the “Good News of the completed ministry of Messiah JESUS CHRIST and Redemption” through REPENTANCE AND FAITH.
Believed in God here means believing the word of the Lord, see verse 32 above, Luke 24:47.
