16 **Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed, descendant. It doesn’t say “seeds, descendants,” referring too many, but “your seed, descendant,” referring to ONE PERSON, who is the Messiah.
19**WHY THE LAW then? It was for the sake of TRANSGRESSIONS, until the SEED SHOULD COME, to whom it had been promised, being ordained through angels in a mediator’s hand.
COMMENTARY:
WHY THE LAW is referring to the Law of Moses. TRANGRESSION is the principal meaning here. The sacrificial law of animals was up graded to the sacrifice of Messiah, Hebrews 10:4-10. The Moral Law was never removed or revised. Prophecy’s will never be removed or revised but will all be fulfilled, Matthew 5:17-18. As we are not able to impeccably keep the Moral Law, the standard of perfection, God has provided Grace for all through Jesus Christ.
The SEED SHOULD COME means that the seed is in route meaning it was on its way like a package to be delivered and would arrive as per God’s schedule which it did.
Genesis chapter 3:

15**And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.
COMMENTARY:
The genealogy of Luke 3:22-38 traces the PROMISED SEED back to Adam. Most probably the seed was transferred to Eve when she was taken from Adam before the transgression, sin of Adam.
The transgression of Adam affected the seed of generations to come meaning US, MALE AND FEMALE but the seed in Eve was protected and passed through the Genealogy of Luke, through HELI the father of the Virgin Mary and grandfather of Jesus, the BODY OF GOD, Hebrews 10:5. The eternal God the Word became flesh, John 1:1-15, Philippians 2:5-8.
Because Adam and Eve were removed from Paradise, the transgression, eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil could not be repeated and so the promised seed could not be damaged when in a male.
The seed passed through Sarah to the promised son Isaac and not through Hagar and Ishmael and continued passing to King David and arriving 1000 years later in the Virgin Mary.
The seed passed from male to female through successive generations arriving in the Virgin Mary about four thousand, 4.000.0 years from Adam and it was activated, switched on by the most expert surgeon, the Holy Spirit, Luke 1:35.
