SOUL PROSPARITY:

3John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that in all respects that you may

prosper and be in good health, just

as your soul prospers.

Works are the measure of faith

but without faith there

would be no works.

James 2:22

THE SOUL:

Hebrews chapter 4:

12 For the WORD OF GOD IS LIVING and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the DIVISION of SOUL AND SPIRIT, of both JOINTS AND MARROW, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the HEART.

The SOUL which is the spiritual core or spiritual aggregate, works with the Spirit and Heart just as Joints and Marrow work together but Soul and Spirit and Heart are separate components of our spiritual self.

God’s objective is to conform our soul, our spirituality to righteousness, Romans 8:28-30.

Genesis chapter 2:

07 And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the BREATH OF LIFE; and man BECAME a LIVING SOUL.

John chapter 20:

22 And when He, Jesus had said this, He breathed on them, and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Job chapter 31:

Elihu

08 But it is the SPIRIT IN man, the BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY, that MAKES HIM UNDERSTAND.

Job chapter 32:

Elihu

04 “The Spirit of God has made me, And the BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY GIVES ME LIFE.

My assumption is that Elihu, a friend of Job has been regenerated, born again and is the only friend of Job that was not chastised by God.

God WHO IS SPIRIT formed the man and woman in His image, Genesis 1:27, John 4:24, Philippians 2:5-7.

All the creatures of God have SOULS and ALL BREATH AIR even fish from their gills. The soul of man was enhanced by the BREATH OF GOD.

Genesis chapter 1:

21 God created the great sea animals, and all that creeps, having a LIVING SOUL, which swarmed the waters, according to its kind; and every bird with wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Only mankind, ADAM and EVE had the “BREATH OF LIFE” which is “INDUMENT OR TEMPORAL SPIRITUAL LIFE” which was SUBJECT TO SIN, Genesis 2:17.

Adam and Eve moved from perfection to imperfection losing fellowship with the Spirit of God, Genesis 2:17 and the covering which were attributes, Revelation 3:18.

God communicated with Adam and Eve and their offspring after the fall, possibly through their minds conscience, Romans 2:14-15 and then through prophets, Genesis 3:9-13, Genesis 4:6-7, Genesis 6:3. The 120 years of verse 6:3 is probably until the prophet’s death and/or the year of the flood.

Church age saints move from imperfection toward perfection and because of Jesus they can never lose the Spirit of God who indwells all believers, Romans 11:29, John 14:16, and they will receive the “Robe of Righteousness” also called the “Uniform of Glory”, Revelation 3:18.

Some will tarnish the “Uniform of Glory”, Revelation 7:13-14. Revelation 7:9 Robes are for “Great Tribulation” Israelis.

Genesis chapter 2:

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely;

17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it YOU SHALL SURELY DIE.”

Because Adam lived 930 years, Genesis 5:5 this must be referring to their spirituality, Genesis 3:7.

The spiritual frame work is still in us but must be regenerated to be in conformity with the Spirit of God, Ephesians 2:1-3.

Genesis chapter 3:

06 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

07 Then the EYES OF BOTH OF THEM WERE OPENED, and THEY KNEW that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.

As a consequence of dying they saw their nakedness which they attempted to cover.

OPEN EYES here probably means they were awestruck, totally surprised at what they were observing which was loss of covering, exposure.

Adam and Eve previously had the covering of Revelation 3:18 but lost the covering when they fell into imperfection exposing their nakedness.

This covering, robe has been called “the Uniform of Glory” and the “Robe of Righteousness” which indeed it is and is given to the redeemed of God, Matthew 22:12-14.  The chosen here, verse 14 are those who have a positive response to the Gospel of redemption.

God slaughtered animals, sheep, Genesis 4:1-5 meaning God COVERED the sins of the flesh by the blood of innocent animals which was a type of and eventually became the “Blood of the Lamb of God”, John 1:29.

Adam and Eve previously had the covering of Revelation 3:18, Romans 8:30.

The flesh was exposed because the human spirit was dead meaning their spirits were separated from God, losing the attributes of a covering and communication with God.

Regeneration of our spirit reconnects us with God and our sins of the flesh are covered by the blood of the “Lamb of God”, Daniel 9:26, Psalm 22, Acts 2:22-24.

By following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, walking with Jesus, Romans 8:5-6 we begin to overcome the sins of the flesh walking as a Spiritual person, a person controlled by the mind of our spirit and not the mind of our flesh.

Revelation chapter 3:

05 ‘He who OVERCOMES shall thus be CLOTHED IN WHITE GARMENTS; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.

1John chapter 5:

04 For whatever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD; and this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith.

Revelation chapter 3:

These are saved people but their focus is on their earthly wealth meaning they have NOT YET “Overcome the World” and they are not walking with Jesus so they have no spiritual wealth.

17 ‘Because you say “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you DO NOT KNOW that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and NAKED (see verse 18 for WHITE GARMENTS),

18  I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire, 1Peter 1:6-7 that you may become rich, and WHITE GARMENTS, that you may clothe yourself, and that the SHAME OF YOUR NAKEDNESS may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; be zealous therefore, and repent.

John chapter 20:

21 Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has SENT ME, I also SEND YOU.

22 And saying this, He BREATHED on them and said to them, “RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT”.

23 Of whomever you may remit the sins, they are already remitted to them. Of whomever you hold, they have been held.

Verse 23 is explained more fully in Matthew 16:19 where the “Keys” are the Gospel, Acts, 15:7-11.

Matthew chapter 16:

19 “I will give you the KEYS OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”, Acts 16:15.

Acts chapter 1:

At Pentecost they also received the POWER of the Holy Spirit probably meaning they received the authority of Jesus Christ, John 20:22 and the authority of the Holy Spirit who is the administrator, authority of the Church age, the VICAR, replacement for Jesus Christ.

08 but you SHALL RECEIVE POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

You can only be a witness if you have firsthand knowledge having viewed the events that occurred, John 14:26.

Luke was not an eye witness but he communicated with those who were, Luke 1:1-4.

The Apostle Paul was not an eye witness but he learned the Gospel from the Old Testament by the Holy Spirit and spent some time with other pillars of the Church, Galatians 2:1-2.

We have the writings of the eyewitnesses and the Holy Spirit who is our teacher, Acts 16:14, 1Corinthians 13:9-13.

Our spiritual components are the mind, soul, spirit and heart including the emotions.  We are both body and spiritual united in one person.

At death the spiritual that animates and gives life to the body is separated from the body.  The body decays returning to dust but our spiritual components live on, Romans 8:10.

Our spiritual self is the object of regeneration with our new body being delayed until the Church Rapture.  Others will receive a body at their respective resurrections, 1Corinthians 15:21-23.

The Soul is spiritual and has 5 inputs.  The eyes, ears and touch, taste are inputs from the body and the spirit is the 5th input through the mind.  The Soul and other spiritual components probably have residence in our brain.

Jesus was in His resurrected Spiritual Body yet he ate as any human would as a demonstration of life in a spiritual body, Luke 24:41-43.

Our spiritual components are very much like software in a computer and they are invisible having no weight or mass but when mature can move mountains.

Because we are born with a Spirit that is not compatible with the Spirit of God our input is primarily from our earthly environment, Ephesians 2:1-3.

Regeneration of our spirit gives us contact with the Eternal God through the Holy Spirit with the objective being conformity to the image of God’s Son for the redeemed who walk with the Lord, 2Thessalonians 2:14, Romans 8:28-29, 1John 1:9.

However; God designed a backdoor into our spirituality called a conscience which He can access if the person has not sealed it, 1Timothy 4:2, John 16:7-8, Romans 2:14-16 and Romans 9:1.

A MESSAGE FROM GOD THE HOLY

SPIRIT TO ALL CHRISTIANS

HEBREWS CHAPTER 12:

01 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us (Hebrews chapter 11), let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us RUN WITH ENDURANCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US, 1Peter 2:11.

This context is about Christian works, Ephesians 2:10 and not about salvation, Ephesians 2:8-9.  Salvation is a free gift that cannot be revoked, Romans 11:29 but works are subject to God’s scrutiny by rules published in the Bible.

The race here is not for speed but is for endurance and must be run according to the rules to win.

Those saved people, runners who quit the race will be disqualified meaning he/she will not get the prize, award, reward, crown, 1Corinthians 9:24-27.

We are not in competition with each other but we compete against the RULES. All Christians that remain faithful will win.

In any race there are bumps, obstacles in the road. If we stumble we move forward by the application of 1John 1:9.

The RULES are simple meaning; God wants us to live a moral life and a charitable life helping those who need help as measured by his commandments, 1John 5:1-3.

He wants us to know Him and that knowledge comes from His word the Bible with comprehension, understanding coming from the Holy Spirit, Acts 16:14, Job 31:8.

02 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the PRINCE and PIONEER of our faith, who for the joy set before Him ENDURED the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God, Acts 1:9, Daniel 7:13-14.

While there may not be a cross in our future, there will be something severe to challenge us but the faithful WILL ENDURE that challenge, James 5:16.

03 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.

COMMITMENT

Matthew chapter 10:

33 But whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father in Heaven.

34 Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35 I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a bride against her mother-in-law.

36 A person’s enemies will include members of his own family.’ Micah 7:6.

37 The one LOVING father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And the one loving son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

This is about commitment and not about salvation.  The Apostles of Christ and others had total commitment and most of them gave their mortal lives not in suicide but as a result of being in “Harms Way”.  Judas Iscariot committed suicide and it profited him nothing.  Those who have a spouse and small children have prior commitments.

Division here is over the person of Jesus Christ meaning everyone; hates Him, loves Him or does their best to ignore Him while using His name in vein.

LOVING, verse 37 is affectionate brotherly love.  The enemies of Christ may be members of our own house hold who may or may not be belligerent toward us.

We are instructed to seek peace, Hebrews 12:14 with all mankind but some people even relatives will not accept us and they can cause much trouble.

PEACE and COMPROMISE are two different words with two entirely different meanings.

If affections for family members, specifically the enemies of Christ, are greater than our affection for Christ then our allegiance will be to someone or something other than Christ.

If some, many or all friends or family members have affectionate love for Christ then there is no division with those friends or family members.

People converting to Christianity are quite often ostracized and made fun of and passed over and even killed or jailed.

OUR MISSION:

1Peter chapter 3:

13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?

14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,

15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as Holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who ASKS you FOR A REASON FOR THE HOPE THAT IS IN YOU; YET DO IT WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT,

Becoming belligerent, Forcing Jesus Christ or Christianity on people is not necessary and it can become quite confrontational.

16 having a GOOD CONSCIENCE so that; when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil (don’t join with them or compromise).

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

While we may have no PHILIO, affectionate love for some people we are directed to AGAPE, objectively love people we may not even like.

If anyone needs your assistance you may have to put aside recreation or a Church meeting in service to the Lord, 1Peter 2:12.  Don’t neglect a spouse or children.

HEBREWS chapter 12:

CONTINUED

04 You have NOT YET resisted to the point of shedding blood in your STRIVING AGAINST SIN;

Verse 5 and 6 are quotes from Proverbs 3:11-12. The Old Testament is the base for the New Testament. The Holy Spirit is the source for both Testaments and often quotes the Old Testament as He established it as the standard.

05 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;

06 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”

2CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 11

TOTAL COMMITTMENT

THE APOSTLE PAUL:

23  Are they servants of Christ?—I am speaking as though I were beside myself—I am more so, with far greater labors, with far more imprisonments, with beatings to a much greater degree, in danger of death many times.

24 Five times I received at the hands of the Jews forty lashes less one (39).

25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I received a stoning. Three times I was shipwrecked. A day and a night I have spent in the deep water.

26 I have been on journeys many times, in dangers from rivers, in dangers from robbers, in dangers from my own people, in dangers from the Gentiles, in dangers in the city, in dangers in the wilderness, in dangers at sea, in dangers because of false brothers,

27 in toil and hardship, often in sleepless nights, with hunger and thirst, often going hungry, in cold and poorly clothed.

The Apostles and others received harsh treatment at the hands of Evil men as they were always in “Harms Way”.

07 If you ENDURE DISCIPLINE, God is dealing with you as with sons; for who is the son whom a father does not discipline?

08 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

09 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the FATHER OF SPIRITS, and live (MORTAL LIFE)?

10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but HE, God DISCIPLINES US FOR OUR GOOD, THAT WE MAY SHARE HIS HOLINESS.

11 All discipline for the moment seems NOT to be joyful, but sorrowful; YET TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TRAINED BY IT, AFTERWARDS IT YIELDS THE PEACEFUL FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

The objective, outcome here is to qualify us for inheritance in the “Kingdom of God”, Galatians 5:21, Hebrews 6:12.

Christians who live an undisciplined life will not inherit and they will live shorter Mortal lives and perhaps die in severe discipline but they will be saved, 1Corinthians 5:1-5. All sins are covered by 1John 1:9.

12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,

13 and MAKE STRAIGHT PATHS FOR YOUR FEET, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather are healed.

14 Pursue peace with all men, and the SANCTIFICATION without which no one will see the Lord, Matthew 5:8.

SANCTIFICATION means to walk with the Lord avoiding worldly ways, 1John 1:9.

15  See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.

Esau was in line for the promises of God but he had no regard for the promises of God and he has become an example of what not to be just as Judas Iscariot who betrayed the Lord for 30 pieces of silver, Zechariah 11:12-13.

17 For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.

18 For you have not come to a mountain that may be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind, Exodus 19:12-13,

19 and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word should be spoken to them.
